Hi Guys, I had a gastric sleeve around 6 and a half months ago and have lost 87lbs so far which I’m delighted with as I am now only 7lbs from target. My issue is that the all the weight has come off everywhere apart from my belly! I’ve tried everything (exercising, healthy eating etc) but it just will not shift and I’m becoming a bit disheartened. Does anyone have any tips or ideas to start shifting some of this blubber?!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I’m am a 37 year old man. I’m pretty sure it’s fat with maybe a little loose skin. I’ve tried crunches, weights etc but nothing seems to work ☹️

Has anyone had surgery in Istanbul, Turkey?
Scotsman83 replied to Melaninbarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A sleeve costs around £12,000 in the UK (approx $15,200) and I'm paying £4000 to have it done in the Czech Republic. It was going to be even cheaper in Turkey at just over £3000 but the aftercare and surgeon in Prague made me feel a lot more reassured. -
Has anyone had surgery in Istanbul, Turkey?

Hi Ozzy, Thanks for your reply. I'm actually going to Prague now to have my sleeve done. Leaving on Sunday and will have the operation on Monday or Tuesday 😁 -
Hi Rosie, How are you doing now? Did you manage to hit target? I am seriously considering Prague to have surgery, would you recommend it and did you have any issues when you were there? Thanks
-
Hi, I am considering having surgery in Prague and wondered if you'd recommend it? I'm actually booked to travel to Turkey in October but after reading a few horror stories I'm 99% certain that I'm going to switch to eastern Europe instead. Thanks

Hi Guys, I'm booked to have my sleeve done in Istanbul at Turkiye Hastanesi hospital from Dr Erol Vural. Just wondered if anyone has been here before? I stumbled across an article about a 25 year old guy from England who died last December after having a sleeve in Turkey and now I'm nervous as hell 😔 Any success stories about surgery in Turkey would be most welcome. Thanks in advance

Gastric Sleeve In Turkey??

I know, and I know I'm over playing it in my head but I've never had surgery abroad before so am just a wee bit apprehensive. I'm sure it's safe enough 🤞 -

Hi Guys, I'm a 37 year old guy from Scotland and am seriously considering gastric sleeve surgery in Turkey through a company called Mcan Health. I have been overweight my entire life but am currently the heaviest I've ever been weighing in at around 275lbs. I'm only 168cm tall so am now classed as morbidly obese. I have issues with my joints due to being so overweight and am extremely depressed and thoroughly hate the way I look. I am just trying to find out if gastric sleeve surgery is right for me? I have tried every diet under the sun and while I do tend to.loseva little weight initially I always pile it back on and more! I would love to hear from anyone who has had the surgery and how it worked out for you? Good and bad stories are most welcome. I've also read that fizzy drinks are a no no after the op and wondered if this was permanent? I enjoy a few beers with friends every so often and would really miss being unable to do this however being healthy means more! Sorry for rambling on a bit but as I say any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance 👍

Spot on, thanks mate! Any chance you could PM me details of your surgeon in Belguim?
-
Excellent, thank you, that's very helpful
-
Ah ok, thanks for the information. How much food are you able to eat these days compared to say 6 months post op?
-
Thanks Guys, so something like wine or a vodka with fruit juice should be ok? God I sound like an alcoholic lol. Has anyone had any problems with losing too much weight? Like once you've hit your target weight and it keeps dropping off? What would you do if that happened? I'm desperate to lose the weight but really don't want to end up looking like skeletor!

Great, thanks Sammi 😊

Wow, thanks for all your replies, they're very helpful. One of the questions I forgot to ask was regarding alcohol. Can you still drink alcohol after surgery? (Obviously not straight away lol). It's not a deal breaker but as mentioned in my original post I do enjoy drinks with friends every so often. @WInston223322 you look amazing, like 2 different people! 😊

In addition to the above I just have a few questions: 1) Do you need to have a liquid diet in the weeks leading up to the surgery? 2) How painful is the surgery and how quickly can I resume work? (I'm a delivery driver who delivers light packages). 3) How soon after surgery can I eat solids? 4) what happens if you overeat? 5) Does the stomach expand in the months and years after surgery meaning you can eat more? 6) Are there any foods that you absolutely cannot eat? 7) Do you regret having the surgery. Again, thanks in advance!
