I know we all want to lose weight fast, but if it averages out to 1 pound a week that is certainly a healthy way to lose. You won't end up with loads of baggy skin. Everyone is different and maybe your body just needs to hang onto the weight and then dump it after a few weeks etc. I would absolutely be varying your caloric intake and shake your body up so it doesn't get too settled into a pattern. Don't get discouraged, if your eating less and exercising there is no choice but for your body to let go of the fat at some point. Might help to stay off the scale for a while also. Cheers! Marilyn

Hi E.L I would say between 10 and 15%, so if your Pedi costs $50 then between $5 - $10 depending how much you liked the service etc. Also if the owner is doing your service you don't tip -- that goes for hair salons also. Hope that helps! Marilyn

Hi Soonsunny I have only been banded a month so I haven't run into this yet. However, based on everything that I have read on all the different message boards, a lot of lapband veterans believe in mixing it up. For example they eat 1200 calories one day and then 900 the next, or a couple of days at one level and then change. Of course also ensure that you are eating Protein first and then vegetables and very little carbs. Lots of lapband veterans and great info also at LAP BAND - Your LAP BAND Resource Best of Luck! Still too tight ...I think???

Amy I am new to this was only banded on June 6, but from everything I have read on all the different message boards you seem to have gotten large fills. I'd say your overfilled. PB's stands for productive burping meaning when you burp up food and slime because your too tight, ate too fast or too much. I'd go back to your Doctor and show them your food diary and how you have been struggling, I understand being too tight for too long can also be dangerous in that it can cause slips and erosion can begin. Best of Luck Marilyn -
Hi Goober -- I was done at TLBC on June 6th and there was no requirement for a chest x-ray, just the pre-op blood and EKG. Best of Luck next week and welcome to Bandland. Cheers! Marilyn

Thanks Doddie, it truly is more like 5 weeks as I lost 10 on the pre-op diet. I wasn't sure how to make the ticker show that. . . .lol I am just going into the soft foods phase..... so tonight I am making a pot of White Bean Turkey Sausage Soup for the upcoming week and it smells very yummy!!!

Hi I was banded three weeks ago on June 6, I was done by Dr. Yau at TLBC. I made that choice because based on my research he has done over 1500 lap band procedures. That was the most important factor to me -- experience. I felt I wanted the best surgeon as that was one aspect I have no control over. Everything that comes afterwards is up to me and how I behave and work the tool I now have. Best of Luck with your decision. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. Cheers! Marilyn
