    Preop weight loss-too much?

Wow, thank you, thank you... I'm not crazy-lol. I like your comment 'but I was still losing'. I tend to forget that my one and two pounds per week will add up. I'm not cheating but I get 1200 cals a day. I was bearly losing at my 2 month check up so my Nut increased me to 1200 since I was walking 3 miles 5 days a week. But..for the next two weeks, I'm cutting back on calories while the scale is slowly moving. thanks for the suggestion! You are my inspiration (2 year post op and 124!) Congratulations on your hard work and defeating that dreadful 6 month stall!

    Preop weight loss-too much?

@Cheeseburgh I noticed that our weight and height are very similar and would like your advice. I was 236 lbs highest weight but surgery weight was 227 at 5' 4 at the end of May. Now I'm 195 but the pounds come off so slowly! I'm 4 months out. Was it the same for you? Did you eat certain things that helped with weight loss? Yes, I Get my protein and water requirements daily. Help anybody!
  3. I was self-pay so I'm not sure about the insurance process. Mine has a no WLS clause
  4. Hi Rachael, You are a few days away from a healthier you! Congratulations!! I am 3 months out and loving the journey. It's not easy but it's definitely not as hard as it was pre-surgery. Your feelings are so normal. Keep a journal and get ready to take care of you!

    Lap Band to Sleeve?

I'm with you, banded December 2009, had it removed 2 months ago - down 35 pounds already and don't miss the slider foods, vomiting, and fills!

    Gastric Band Revision To Sleeve

Hi, You will be fine! I, too, was a bandster for 10 years and converted to sleeve 2 months ago. The best word to describe my feeling is RELIEF! the band started out great but then it was too tight, too loose, too finicky from one bite to the next. I have lost 35 pounds and Eat the things that I like. I did away with complex carbs with the band so I haven't (and don't plan on) picked them back up. Best thing, I can eat fruits (All kinds) without throwing up.. You won't regret it. Best,

    Shakes

Try freezing your liquid and eating ice- one ounce at a time. Your body is screaming 'trauma' and needs time to rest.

    It’s getting real...

Congratulations on your decision! I, too, was self-pay sleeve three weeks ago and I was initially nervous about something going wrong like what if I text positive for covid or what if they find another health issue, etc. It's totally normal and let nothing detour you. It's your time to really live your best life.
  9. I'm sorry that you are having these problems. They mirror what I went through with the lapband. The first years were fine, lost 70 pounds but somewhere along the way, the fill was too tight, too loose, vomiting, slider foods just to eat. Finally decided to get an unfill, gained all the weight back. My doctor said that some people just can't handle a foreign object being inside their body. I recently revised to sleeve, so far -so good. Good luck on whatever decision you make.

    10 days, 80-90 ounces

I'm 11 days post op today so we are very close in dates. The liquid stopped working for me after week one but then I could bring in protein shakes and cream soups. For the past 2 days a ricotta bake and tuna salad (along with shake for breakfast and snack) have kept me satisfied. I hope things get better for you soon.
  12. Congratulations! I'm two weeks post op. You have a good plan to start vitamins now and drink up! Add walking as much as you can do that you will already have the mindset of walk, walk, walk. Good luck!
  13. I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts. After 10 years of the 'Band', I've decided that I must move on! Started with highest weight pre-band at 236, lost 70 pounds and things were great. Somewhere along the way, I was too tight (constant vomiting) or too loose (ate everything). Could never get back to the green zone. I gained all the weight back plus 4 pounds! So, tomorrow I am officially separating from the band and entering a new relationship with the sleeve. Please, supporters, wish me the best and hopefully my nervous jitters will calm down.
  14. Awesome! Good luck you!
  15. Hello! I'm officially in the revision family! Everything went well and I arrived home earlier today. Your posts helped so much because from the time I was out of recovery, I walked every hallway that I could every 3 hours. It really helped with the pain and gas. Well, I'm seven pounds heavier than when I went in but...has to be fluid from the IV ' I only drank 30ml at a time! Just following up.
  16. Wow! We 're running back to back with our current weight stats and my surgery is tomorrow -revising band to sleeve! Best!

I hit 100 pounds lost today!

Congratulations! Your message and the comments are so inspiring. I'm scheduled for the sleeve on Tuesday. I was thinking my '56' age would make post op a lot worse But reading your posts have relaxed my nerves.
  18. Hi , what happened with this? It's definitely not right since you are self pay.
  19. Hi! I'm in the liquid preop stage also and my diet is 3 protein shakes and 2 high protein choices from a list of snacks. My surgery is Tuesday and I've been doing this since May 6. I really haven't been hungry except in my head when hubby or daughter are eating 😊. One thing that helped me was a written scheduled of 'eat' times/ water intake, which basically took care of every two hours for the entire day. Hang in there!
