Hello all my fellow bandsters. I 've been away from the forum for awhile. Unfortunatley, I've had some major drama pop into my life, keeping me away from the computer. For anyone reading this, your curiousity must be peaked or you wouldn't still be reading. I'll start with the good news...Even though I haven't really been trying, I am still losing weight, and happy to report my current weight is 245lbs..yay!!..Now for the bad news..On friday, I was involved in an accident pulling into my driveway. They say accidents always happen in the home and or close to home, and I guess the statistics don't lie. My daughter and I were hit by a semi-truck hauling two loads of rocks. The driver decided to pass me on a non passing road..and by the time he saw my turn signal ..he slammed into my little honda civic. I suffered some injuries, 11 staples to my head, and serious whiplash, but happy to report, my daughter being the sturdy little thing she is, is unharmed..Well, except the emotional scars and fear she now has of trucks. I've been trying not to be depressed. I fear depression might lead me back into my old eating habits. I've been pretty good about not indulging or using my accident as an excuse to eat unheath-ily..I guess the reason I am writing this post, is to just sort of vent, and I felt as though I made a couple of friends on here, and didnt' know if anyone was missing me in my absence. I hope everyone else is doing well and reaching their goals. Thank you for reading!! Wishing everyone love, life and happiness!!

Ok..so when are we supposed to post our weight loss ? I am busy lately and I guess I haven't paid much attention to the site in the last week or so. I have lost some weight since my last post. This month is hard for me, I have been a little depressed. Doing well avoiding sweets..(helps that I'm diabetic *sighs*) but, I am tempted to eat salami and cream cheese and wanting to put mayoniase in my tuna...I can't believe one little spoon full of mayo can inspire so much guilt and also calories not to mention fat. I been trying to eat a lot of brocoli and I'm sooo getting tired of it. I'm getting bored with my routine and what I can or rather CAN"t eat. Blah...but, I'll keep trudging along, and as long as I don't gain any weight back, I guess I'm still on track..So...how is everyone else doing? lol

First I'd like to say, that everyone on here has been so great. I really appreciate having a forum like this to gain knowledge and maybe give some also. I am a single mother, living in Lodi, California. A recent transplant here, I have lived in the SF Bay area for most of my life. I decided after being fat most all of my 33 years to get banded Jan 5,2006. My starting weight was 291 and I am happy to report as of yesterday I am at 255.5. There are so many advantages to this new lifestyle that the sacrifices are well worth it. I am excited to take this challenge and I am so happy for all of us that we can support and challenge each other in a positive way. I wish everyone the best of luck and I know we can all succeed!!

Hey Kelli...what a small world it is!! We will have to chat further and compare notes!!

Ok..Im not the most out of shape person, but Im not exactly fit and toned. I have recently moved and theres really no where for me to continue walking like I was. I was losing about 5-7lbs a week and after not walking I only lost 2 lbs last week:rolleyes . Can anyone reccomend a good work out dvd that isn't too strenuous? I need something I can do in the house. I tried doing random excersices, but Im not sure if Im doin them right, and I don't want to hurt myself by doing them wrong. lol..I'm not talking about the old Jane Fonda workout either. Has anyone used those trampoline exersice things? It looks kinda fun...Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks you guys there are so many good ideas here, Im excited to try them > I particularly like the dance dance revolution, sounds like fun and I need to get my kids into an interactive video game, and not just sit there excecising their thumbs.

Thank you so much for all your ideas. I really liked the park where I used to walk and I was up to about 40 minutes of fast paced walking ( with my poor lil dog tryin to keep up) I think I just got into that mindset and am stuck on that. We have some steps going up to the porch and I am going to start going up and down them to get my heart rate up before I walk. I often tend to forget to stretch and I am working on that. I am not really a gym person. Maybe after I lose about 50lbs more I would consider it. Seems to me, (maybe I'm wrong ) but from what I heard, fat people aren't treated well at gyms..but thats just from one person's experience. I dunno. All I do know is I need to keep moving!! Good luck to everyone with their excercise goals!! and again..THANK YOU!! Muahs

I am originally from San Leandro (oakland) and had my surgery with Dr. Cirangle too...small world! now I live in Lodi ..*sighs* but it was kinda exciting seeing you on here...mabye we can compare notes sometime!!:biggrin1:

I wish I could afford a personal trainer..my excercise budget is about 20$ or the cost of a dvd..lol congrats on your loss!!! I'm right behind ya..(panting and puffing.) *winks*

I had a lot of problems with getting excess air by gulping. That causing burping and what not. You are pretty newly banded. I would just keep on truckin and drink as much fluids that you can. You can also try sugar free popsicles and jello..( my best friend ) lol..There are a lot of ways to get your liquids in..maybe try sucking on ice? or chewing it? good luck and congratulations

:scared: I'm just wondering are bananas ok to eat..I think the nutritional value must exceed the sugar content ..but, I'm not sure if I should eat them..I really want one tho!!:welldone2:

so...we moved out here where there are no sidewalks. There is a highway and then a ditch. Its kinda messed up to walk around here. I attempted to walk in the field, but the ground is so uneven, so wet, I felt like I was gonna twist my ankle at any time. I did walk to the mailbox, which took me a good 5 minutes. Im from the city, so this country life is foriegn to me. So, I walked for about 15 minutes all together. When I came back in the house, my heart was pumping pretty good. I think when the mail comes I will walk to it again. Damn I wish there were sidewalks around here..or level ground.. If anyone reads this, and does excersice from a tape or dvd, can you reccomend one that isn't too strenuous? Well, at any rate..I guess I need to get creative with my excersice out here..

Depending on if you had your band filled at the time of surgery, your stoma might still be pretty big. Maybe after your stomach gets a chance to heal a little bit, your surgeon will fill your band and then you will get the sensation of fullness which is what we have the surgery for. have you been eating jello? Jello is my friend lol
