    ramblings

:clap2: I just weighed myself and I am down to 258..its like some sort of miracle. I haven't been walking lately because I have been moving and finding a new job. I had a couple of off days where I let myself get depressed and I ate somethings I shouldn't have.:cry I did, although, resist the allure of a hostess ho ho. lol..I:speechles am ready to get back on track and start walking. We moved to a really rural area, with no parks per say..I live on 40acres, so I think I will just walk the perimiter of the property. I want to get a low impact workout dvd and start that asap. I can't believe I still have over a hundred pounds to go. Im learning to think differently about food and to find other sources of comfort. It is a vicious cylce. Well, I just wanted to write somethin in here since it was blank..I think this is a great website and I wish I would have found it a month ago...Peace to all..:kiss2:

    Bananas

ty..I did eat a banana..and I could only eat about half of it..but, it was SWEET...lol..I can't wait til strawberries come into season again..what about apples and such..I know the juice is too high in sugar, but what about the actual fruit...I had my surgery Jan 5th..so I can eat pretty much anything, but I'm so paranoid about throwing up I still rely on mostly tuna, milk, chicken and my protien shakes..How do I get over this fear and start experimenting with new things? I think I am just trying to stick with what works...*shrugs shoulders* I better go take a vitamin..lol

    Too much water?

I realized that the sugar free jello is considered liquid, also, if you are so inclined you can eat sugar free popsicles...a lot of the liquid stage "liquids'' I still rely on to meet my quota for water intake..Snapple diet products are also good.

    Gross me out, please!

I have never had any of these problems. Although, I've only been banded about two months. I guess I am so paranoid about it, I chew extensively and I never ever eat fast. It sounds to me like PB is pretty much avoidable. The lap band is not a solution, it is just a tool, and our behavior has to change in order for it to work. I suggest slowing down while you eat..put your fork down between each bite, and take small bites and chew chew chew....Also, I'm wondering when this happens, would taking a tums help settle the stomach?

    Starches/Carbohydrates- whats OK?

I was told by my surgeon to avoid all "white" foods such as popcorn, bread, pasta, potatoes. I pick all the potatoes out of my soups. It's a small sacrifice to be healthy. I figure I've already eaten my life's quota before the diet, so I'm not missing anything...lmao

    coffee

I drank coffe about one month post op and it gave me the jitters so bad and made my heart speed. I didn't realize the effect it would have on me, so I've decided to give it up completley. I prefer some green tea now. Coffee is hard on your stomach even for people that aren't banded. I say -to each their own!!!

    I'm terrified and crying

aaw..don't be scared!! its gonna be just fine..you are prolly getting yourself worked up and making yourself dizzy from stress. As long as all your pre-op tests came out ok..you will be fine. Its natural to be scared..its a major surgery, but it is soooo worth it...believe me...I had my surgery jan5th and lost 31lbs already..once you adjust your behavior, and start excercising..the weight will come off and you will laugh at how scared you felt...*hands yew a tissue*..You can DO IT!!
