single mom, 1 kid, what will i cook?

They are pricey - I bought one and when my son comes with me - we just take turns - alternating walking and riding. Also, I purchased mine at 250 lbs, but I did not have very much upper body strength, so I wasn't able to do very much - but now that I have lost more - AND have been lifting weights, it is much more enjoyable. It has been too hot down here to ride lately (Texas) - but I plan to really get out there and ride when it starts cooling down.

    Muscle Milk Anyone?

Pre mixed is nasty - I use the Chocolate Milk LIGHT (not regular). GNC does carry it - however, my local Smoothie King has it for alot cheaper. I LOVE IT!!!!!! Tastes great with water - but even better with skim milk!!!!

single mom, 1 kid, what will i cook?

I, too, am a single mom (12 yr old boy) - AND I too have a Trikke!!!!! Personally, I would wait a LONG time before roller blading - try simpler forms of exercise like walking, biking, and swimming! Yes - it can be a pain to cook for one - but you can do it!!! It's just for a while! I started working out with a trainer for a few weeks this summer, just to give me a kick start - and now I attend the fitness/boot camp at my church 3 nights a week! Great fun! Crockpots are great - and I have a new toy - I fell victim to an infomercial and bought some time of counter top convection oven thing that will let me cook food directly from frozen in a short period of time! We'll see how that goes! :-) Just go for trial and error! Plan ahead and JOURNAL your food!!!! Good Luck! JoAnne in Texas

    June Exercise Challenge

start taking Glucosamine/Chondroitin - DAILY! I have knee issues too, and my ortho tol dme the same thing. I quit taking the Gluco after I got banded - but the knee issues really got worse - and now after being back on them for a while - I can really tell the difference!
  6. I have just started with a personal trainer - and all my doctor said was no traditional situps - reverse situps only. Does anyone else have any more guidelines I can follow? I am paranoid about doing some damage - or pulling something loose, etc. BTW - I was banded 7 months ago.
