Hi welcome to the club its the shake strugglebus. My tip would be to try some mixers for choc shake add in something called pb2 as an example. I also just learned about fairlife milk which is high protein and at target but havent picked it up yet to try. You can get unflavored protein powder to go in jello and broth. Are you on puree if so chicken salad egg salad in the magic bullet blender. Eggs over easy also help me but got that approve by surgeon first

Lyrica yeah med side effect or dehydration, you can get an outpatient iv if it gets bad ask surgeon

I dont like the people on here who try to control who can reply to posts just because they are further out in their journey that they think the new people shouldnt respond. But i will and i do! I dont really care for the food thread because its only a few people with nothing new. I am amazed they can eat it cause i would hurl due to the density of the item 🌝 i had a nice hurl fest yesterday over a piece of fish when i ate the same tilapia most of last week. hi im about 1 mo out and had some incision pains for 2 weeks. a couple of mine came back open though. first always let bariatric nurse know about incision issues. if after 3 days post op you have redness let them know it indications inflammation which should only occur during the initial healing (up to 72 hours or something my surgeon said). Next i would get a heating pad and plop it on there. sometimes that helps me.gas pain was generally shoulder. you can help gas pain along by walking but also by taking gas x my surgeon said some does go in bowel. there is a chewable simethicone you can get over counter my surgeon approve ..ask yours. My surgeon decided to prescribe it to me so my insurance would pay which is great lol. I had some deep cuts like you. I had some adhesions under there they also had to cut through. as far as back pain i would wonder if you might need a pee test from your pcp just to check kidneys (because of your back pain). sometimes they can check through something called a cbc and what you want to look at is your white blood cells to indicate infection. are you getting in your water? its hard not to worry much the first few weeks because it is all new (!) but alot of what you are describing i went through and read others went through except the back pain which is why i think its a good idea to check the pee. hope any of this helps and hope your pain gets better. p.s. your incisions also might like some ice if the heat dont work. you gotta find what works for your body

let your surgeon know he can give you a small dose of tramadol for at home by call in scriptits a little stronger than tylenol

My doctor was pretty sure the bypass would eventually get me off most meds. The nurses in his office said most bypass patients eventually get down to only having 1-3 pills a day as well as have fast weightloss. I noticed you added your stats wtg on that weightloss so far!

There is no need to try to police when others should choose to post. This is a site that sells weightloss supplements and gear for wls patients. You are no more qualified to post than anyone else.

The reverse is also true that we should not assume someone who has only read yet not practiced medicine knows how to practice medicine. Nor should we really be trying to nail doctors to walls because it doesnt really serve purpose. The best approach for the patient is collaborative. There are some shitty doctors out there but there are also some shitty patients lol

Hey welcome to the other side! I feel the same about the pills and the size on some is too big. I do not have cough or diarreah at this point post op but in the very beginning my lungs felt heavy and i did hack some stuff up From surgery. Is it possible you caught a cold or tummy bug while in there?
