6.5 weeks post-op...still having stomach pain
tarotcardreader replied to LAJ23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Im past a month post op as well and i had all that going on until i preportioned the food and drink. I use 2 oz cups prior to eating. I use a 1 cup measure for liquid. These work for me. I dont just eyeball anything i measure it before even trying and that has significantly decreased my discomfort as well as increased my protein uptake You could start with a one ounce to see if that caused pain if not go to two. Im glad you are checking back with surgeon about anything i always do -
Anyone go into surgery alone?
tarotcardreader replied to samiaam25's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You just have to sign a form that you are leaving against medical advice. Be wary that it gets noted in your medical record though and later on when you need something like home health services they may reject you as a patient because of previous noncompliance. -

Maybe get some of those sugar free syrups to flavor your shakes so you dont get bored. They have many flavors mint for chocolate shake as an example. 3 shakes a day 😖 -

Anyone go into surgery alone?
tarotcardreader replied to samiaam25's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did mine alone due to covid. I was in there for four days. I could see for the average person having someone there to be an advocate for you while you are groggy would be helpful. However, i recall sleeping an entire day so its not necessary. I would say helpful but not necessary -
Yeah that does seem like alot of sugar

Baby bel sounds good 👌🏼 -
You could get bottled water plain and add an unflavored protein like genepro to it
-
Sounds horrific are you allowed to have tylenol? Liquid childrens tylenol is available without a script. I think alot of us seemed to have pain meds during that part

I take bariatric advantage ultra solo once a day. Surgeon requires it. I also take calcium soft chews bariatric advantage 500mg 3x a day in strawberry.

Id say the first two weeks were roughest for me but i was still walking a half hour a day. It varies and some days there can be setbacks with dehydration, stomach upset, etc. i think working from home would be doable -

Morning Sickness & mild nausea 3 months post op anyone?
tarotcardreader replied to ozzy3434's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, i do! And my pouch is temperamental in the morning sometimes it wants hot sometimes cold. I think right now the safest bet is just some flavored water in the morning lol. its almost like the pouch needs its own little coffee to wake up (not currently having coffee though at 1 mo post op) -
Your problems arent small and your feelings are valid. I was reading some articles the other day that there is increased suicide post op. That means you aren’t alone in feeling crummy. We don’t yet know all the ways these procedures affect the body on deeper levels. I hope your doctor can find a better med for you.

Where to go for support?
tarotcardreader replied to SAS11's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have an in person support group but its doing telehealth right now. I think the meeting its through microsoft you can probably find one similar and turn on closed caption through microsoft somehow. This support group is for my surgeons patients. Maybe your surgeon has something similar? -
Question: when can you eat protein bars?
tarotcardreader replied to cindyt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would ask the surgeon. He’s going to be familiar with when things are normally healed enough to consume something like that. -
Constipation and surgery prep

Is this the only surgeon office near you. You really want someone good on your team. There are just so many weightloss places out there. It sucks you are stressed about that part when it should actually be a very exciting time -

Getting cold feet- VSG Pre-Op
tarotcardreader replied to LandoLivie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah its a risk of death and a risk of complication as you know. For me it was the risks from the comorbities i had they had similar outcome possibilities. It really is a personal decision and good for you being careful and putting deep thought into it. There are a lot of things that can go wrong but remember when they mention all the complications they dont mention all the medical ways we have available to treat or manage them though. I wish you alot of luck with your personal decision -
Thinking of getting the surgery and looking for encouragement
tarotcardreader replied to Jamie R's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where are you getting it done at? I did pali momi. I hear fowler has alot of xp but I chose Ver. It can be a bit tricky with planning travel if you have a complication. Make sure to give some extra time in case an incision pops back open. With incisions they can extend recovery. While i also have beach body im not approved for the hit cardio yet and im post op 1 month. Probably can start closer to six weeks if you heal normally and arent with any wonky complications. You could probably do watp until then. I pretty much just ask my surgeon directly because with ver she tailors it to your specific body and how its doing. You may have better skin that just heals right up but i have baby skin theres a nice support group for it where you can ask questions even preop and talk to others in different stages right now its via telehealth. See if your surgeon has something like that real people that have been there I’ll be doing vegas for 3 months in January but japan if you have a complication there’d be that big quarantine confusion when you fly back forth. Maybe vaccine will be out before then to make things less complicated Good luck with your decision 🦄its an interesting journey where you end up learning alot about yourself -
