Hip & back pain after weight loss
tarotcardreader replied to LAJ23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a ct before op and was fine but post my ct showed mild degenerative changes in thorac and hips 💁🏼♀️. I also lost about fifty first month and some more in the second month. Regular back xrays didnt show anything it showed on scans done for my belly. However i do not have an increase in pain like you guys. Just thought it was interesting 🤔 -
1 week post op and sick
tarotcardreader replied to shawttyy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1 week post op and prob on other meds i would call and ask your bariatric nurse. Normally when im sick like that i take dayquil but with covid and being so close out just check to be sure its ok with your set of comorbities and current med lists. Dayquil comes in liquid form if you decide to try it -
Welcome to the otherside now the fun begins of new tastes n experiences

Post op eating
tarotcardreader replied to elenaweight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No my plan does not require that lol. I think that would be difficult. Mine is just 60-80g protein whether by shake or food but the protein isnt as important to my doctor as the water is in my specific case. I dont even want to suggest protein shakes because they are nasty so instead i will recommend to you milk called fairlife. It has protein in it goes down ok for me so long as im slowish. Check that milk out. Now i also eat little mini sausages w cheese inside dipped in sugar free bbq, Sometimes a square of cheese on the side, Some chili from wendys Things like that -
Thats good glad to hear!

tarotcardreader replied to SAS11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey i was on my period for surgery. Nobody cared they seen it before lol. The nurse did make me take of my panty and hygiene item and instead wear a mesh hospital panty into surgery. Post op i was given additional pairs. They dont want you falling asleep w tampon for 24 hours. -

Mexican Food
tarotcardreader replied to Amanda Baker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like to drain a can of tortilla soup with a strainer and dab some sour cream on top. In softs i order the protein power bowl and customize it with whatever proteins my pouch is tolerating that hour. How great it is that there is protein in cheese. I didnt start eating these things until 6weeks post op because my programs dietician suggested laying off spices a bit til its healed some. -

Skipping Purees
tarotcardreader replied to xoxoMeli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol. Boy post op even more aversions come and things i didnt like before taste better now. I was excited to get into puree but only there for a few days before being approved by surgeon to start soft food. During the puree phase i could exchange food with shakes if i wanted because my surgeons plan is about Counting proteins. I think it depends on your plan. You could skate through the whole puree thing with shakes if your surgeon allows. For me though, the shakes i tried before surgery i didnt like after surgery. -

Ibuprofin Alternative?
tarotcardreader replied to newyorklady20's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well heres what you can do for the migraines. Get a referral from your primary care doc to a neurologist. There are now these shots you can get that last three or six months and many people are migraine free with them. Its great. For period pain i used naproxen preop but post op honestly because i have lost quite a bit of weight probably the period Was lighter and way less painful. I was able to get by with just a heating pad so far. There are also medical options (several) for addressing your painful periods and any gynecologist can let you know those. Maybe make an appoitment to discuss. Some new meds out there are helping alot of people. I would say also that you could see a pain management doc if your pain is excruciating. -
PRE Pre-Op diet (tracking etc)
tarotcardreader replied to Morachia's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Im a little beyond six weeks post op and i really sucked at tracking to what i do is use a happy planner the fitness version because it has all the spaces for fluids. Post op my main reason for tracking is the fluids because its more important for me right now to get those in. My program does not count cals just protein grams water oz and exercise minutes. I like the simplicity -
Congrats!

Irritable Bowel Movements???
tarotcardreader replied to PerezL84's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I went today and was told to double up on sienna twice a day with the miralax and an extra 100 mg ducl at lunch. I did buy prunes to try one because another lady here really likes them and suggested it to me. Also found out i have a probably cyst on my ovary 3cm but will take that info to primary doc because the ct recommended a ultrasound on it. Other than that i have an anatomically longer colon (learned today) which is probably the reason for the extra difficulty. You are right twinsies with the cysts too lol -
Also had mine done the 28. I drink fairlife too instead of shakes now.

Hey welcome im six ish weeks post op. Its an interesting ride

Irritable Bowel Movements???
tarotcardreader replied to PerezL84's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Lol welcome to the miralax club which im prob lifetime member of. When you say doctor are you talking about your surgeon or your primary care? Did you get the stone even with taking ursodil post op? I was thinking that med might b causing constipation. I had a ct today too so ill find out shortly. Im thinking few minor bumps then smooth sailing for us hopefully -
Sorry to hear that i hope your symptoms improved 🤞🏼

I did leggings and if something hurt i didnt do it. Touch base with your bariatric team about the soreness but maybe try to avoid the positions that cause it if u just came out of surgery. I was pretty sore for awhile (positioning pulls on incisions and deeper cuts) but it gradually improved. Invested in more pillows to make things comfy while healing
