Support people resources
tarotcardreader replied to JonahB's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think its great you have such a good support network.🤗 when i asked my support person he says everything is different and its not going to be easy but just give it time. he didnt look anything up. he was unable to attend alot of the things because due to covid they only allow patient in here. you should get a walking buddy too (30 mins a day is what my program requires) and if one of your support people cooks turn them on to some high protein 'puree' meal prep recipes so when you get out of the hospital they can cook for you a little while you are healing. -
well heres the skinny. i thought since i was on puree i could take the meaty bits of a loco moco (im in hawaii at the moment) and pulverize it into protein. a loco moco is generally hamburger gravy and an egg on top of rice or mash tato. I didnt have the tato or rice so i thought it would be cool. I was up all night with diareah cramping and some pouch pain. the fatty food (gravy and high fat % meat ) made me dump. I havent been wanting anything sweet because all the shake and vitamin stuff is so sickenly sweet. even the following day nausea. That was my first experience with dumping. I hear some people can eat it. I had long limb rny incase you are wondering which procedure. Hope this helps forgot to mention it was only 1.5 ounce of food that caused it (i use containers so i know the amount)

Definitely check on liver or atleast let your primary care physician know. Also yellow poop can be a lactose intolerance you can develop food intolerances after these procedures but for some its only temporary. Your physician can decide if he wants to run a liver panel just to be safe because only he knows all your comorbities we do not

you may need a new scale or to balance the scale with a 5lb flour bag. but i do want to add it seems really crazy the scale is moving so fast i dont believe it either as it is happening and this is due to trying to lose weight on my own losing 3 gaining 5 prior to surgery

Hi, i was told to walk atleast thirty a day in all those preop classes have you been doing that? its suppose to help maintain the weightloss

Getting "Gagged Out" on protein shakes. Need another way
tarotcardreader replied to LJW's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
i went to puree one week post op surgeon gave me a list of foods. It really helped a ton. I was less nauseas and everything. I think it was the nasty premier protein. I was regurgitating it at night. I have orange bariatric advantage now that I am going to turn into frozen popsicles with this item on amazon to try to help with protein. -
Pre op diet
tarotcardreader replied to brwneyedgrl96's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the preop diet. Four days prior to surgery i had little ceasars pizza and breadsticks. The remaining 3 days i went liquid shakes only and the doc said my liver looked fine. -
Scolded for using "wrong" protein shake post-op
tarotcardreader replied to LAJ23's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I disagree because it was probably all mentioned in the dietician appointments prior to surgery which the patient said she would follow post op but patient went awall as some patients do. Premier p doesnt have the nutrition panel of some of the other drinks such as bariatric advantage. Its also milk protein which alot of people can be sensitive to post op. I think if poster did not like the dietary program beforehand the responsible thing to have done would not to lie and instead go with a different surgeons program that was more aligned with his/her own thinking. Its utter bullshit that we have such a complain whine complain when in this situation the patient agreed to program but went astray for their own reasons. -

Reality Is Setting In
tarotcardreader replied to OnMyWay1956's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hair brush, phone, phone charger, deoderant, chapstick, toothbrush, toothpaste (and cpap w distilled water if you have one). However, the hospital provided toothbrush and toothpaste, comb, a minty chapstick had I not have brought my own. It's a really short stay (mine was 4 days). Wear the outfit you go home in to the surgery (loose and comfortable) then you dont need to pack second outfit. Wear their gown until you are about to check out because the incisions and drains can leak. mine did soaking entire side of gowns. They will give you little mesh panties while you are there so i didnt even need to pack any except to have a going home outfit. It was hard carrying everything out due to covid no visitors were allowed so I had to have one nurse push my chair and the other push the cart with bag on it. -

tarotcardreader replied to Foxy Momma's topic in Food and Nutrition
Well initially right off stop eating those things! Second see an endocrinologist and tell the surgeon it could be that hyperglycemia and usually u go on low carb diet with it. -

Indented incision
tarotcardreader replied to RainbowBrite57's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had long limb rny but have the same spot as you there was one stitch inside and open on the outside. She said thats where the staple gun went in. She told me they put one inside to encourage it to close but leave the outside open so it can drain out if it needs to. I have a few open still. I dont know if that stitch is attached to ab wall she made it sound like its on the incisiom itself but just from the inside of the cut. It is painful but heating pad helps. Mine does not appear indented yet
