Nausea after revision from sleeve to bypass
Jetsfan2020 posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi everyone: I know that it may take some time for people to respond but I keep going to the doctor to complain but its not helping. In 2015 I had the sleeve but after losing 50 pounds, within 5 years I gained it all back. In July 2020 I had the bypass. I'm down over 110 pounds which is amazing. The problem is that I'm finding that even foods, that I originally could eat after surgery, I now can't eat. Almost everything I eat makes me nauseous or I get sick. I'm literally dependent on protein shakes and quest bars as my only source of viable nutrition. I was prescribed zofran but so far that hasn't helped at all. Did anyone else have similar experiences? Any guidance, thoughts, tricks or food suggestions would be appreciated. I really have found that all natural proteins make me sick. Thanks, Phil -
One Month Post-Op Weight Loss Question
Jetsfan2020 replied to ANewJourneyAwaits's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
20lbs in the first month is awesome. As long as you remember to eat slow and follow the instructions they gave you, and stop when full, you are doing well. Everyone is different. But a net loss every month is progress. Don't forget it took you a while to gain the weight, so in reverse, the same will hold true. But stay positive. You are doing great!! -
How long does it take the doctors office to get the approval?

Depends on how they communicated originally but just keep following up with the Doctors office every couple days. Its usually pretty quick. -
Drains after surgery
Jetsfan2020 replied to njlimmer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had them but they are more of an annoyance then anything else. I had two drains placed and one leaked a lot but they said it was natural. aside from the annoyance of changing the bandages twice a day it really didnt bother me at all. -
Gastric Bypass lasted 5 hours due to scar tissue.
Jetsfan2020 replied to RhondaHigdon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My revision took over 5 hours as well. My doctor said I had a lot of scar tissue. The sleeve the first time only took him 45 minutes. He says this is somewhat common for it to happen. I had lots of post op complications as well. Ive lost a lot though so aside from being nauseas all the time the weight loss was markedly better this time around.
