I had to go through 6 months of diet, nutrition, ppo visits and nutrition class before my insurance would approve.  The banding was very easy.  Unfortunately I am not losing weight.  I've dropped only 20lbs since the banding 9 months ago.  The surgeon has decided I probably need gastric bypass.  I'm just waiting for the office to clear it with my insurance (which has already told me yes).  I'm hoping they'll call soon.
