Hi my fellow bandsters: I am newly banded May 29,08 I went to Mexico to Dr. Ortiz. I had to go down alone because my partner stayed home with our kids. I had a great experience and am doing fine. I have such a great support in her. I havn't told a sole about my decission to get banded. I feel that I don't want to justify why I went to Tijuana or why I couldn't do it on my own I feel that as I go down I will just take it all in stride and learn to live a healthy life with small portions and more exercise. I am looking forward to solid food. I have a food date of June 19, only a few more days to go. I don't feel any restriction now and have to make a fill appointment. I am also wondering how the hell do you get the ticker to attach to my page? I have tried and tried and I am thinking that I am very computer illiterate. Any suggestions? Thanks Tammy:thumbup: -

My band was placed on May 29,08 I understand that it could take up to a month for the site to heal.

I was wondering if any of you have had pain at the port site. My incision is healing nice and the bruising is gone, however when I bend over I have sever pain at the port. I am wondering if the port takes longer to heal. My stomach is larger and I am hoping that this won't be an ongoing thing until I have my weight gone. I find it hard to bend over or sit down without pain. Please let me know what your experience has been.. thanks

Hi Heather: I am glad to see that you are doing fine. I hope you are healing and still on the liquid diet. I was wondering who you got to do your fills. I contacted two doctors in Victoria and they only fill paitents that have been banded by them. I was considering going back to Tijuanna for my fill, however if you have any suggestions please let me know. I have lost 23 lbs since I started my liquid diet two weeks before my band and I am feeling great. I still have a little pain around my port site, I think it is because I have such a gut and when I bend over it puts pressure on my port site. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing...... by for now Tammy.. -
Beginning to come face to face with my addiction to food..that I never thought I had!

Steveamay: I too discovered that I have an addiction to food. I had my surgery on May 29 and have lost 23 lbs. I was worried about the band not doing what I need it to do. I was worried about being hungry and eating evrything in sight. I am still on the liquid diet until June 19 and then I can start eating solid foods and I am affraid that I will eat too much. I must trust in my band and together we will drop the pounds and get healthy. I think you are on the right path thinking about the addiction now. You are aware of the problem and have it on your mind. I think if you didn't think about it then you might have a problem. Keep up the thinking and trust in your band..... Tammy
