Skee Wee, My Soror, Skee Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Trust me we are all in this together. When I read your post, I felt like I was talking about myself. It's been up and down over the past few years and I just can't keep it off. It's hard to have to admit that this item that you place on your "To Do List" just can't get done. I've always been able to set a goal and achieve it and move forward. Keep your head up and move forward. Trust me, it's not that you failed in any fashion, but our lives as women are so busy that we fail to care for and love the one person that we should....ourselves!!! I know that you are weary of the surgery, but I know that it will be a great move for you. I'm not sure where you are located, but if you need a friend or better yet a sister, then Soror I am here. My husband and I both had the surgery done in June and he has already lost 50+ lbs. I'm at 30+ right about now, but I'm thrilled at the weight loss. I have gone from a 22-24 to a size 18 in this short time. I can't wait until December for Christmas, as I have promised myself a brand new wardrobe. It's time to put yourself first, and that first step might include saying "I can't do it alone" and that's ok. That's why this forum is here. Soror Jen

I am having the same issue. I just hit 30lbs lost and I can't seem to move that needle anymore. It seems like the fat girl in me has come back. I find myself snacking on all kinds of crap! But when I try to eat healthy with chicken, salad, or tuna it gets stuck. I chew and chew and chew and it's like "damn, I need some water" to help it go down. It just seems so dry. I have even had to have some Fluid removed. I have 6.2 in a 10cc band. I know that I need to work out more often, to help facilitate the weight loss, but I need some help. Advice Please!!!

Ladies, I am with you on this one. My husband works overnight and I am at the house with the kids. I was doing great in the beginning either going upstairs to work out or working from home while they ate dinner, but the fat girl in my has reared her ugly head:cursing:! I find myself eating the Snacks for their lunches. I've stopped working out too. It's like I can't stop myself. I have finally gotten back in the right mindset, but the idle time at home is driving my crazy. Eat a handful of raisins, Jello, pudding, yogurt, or those 100 calorie snacks. Some of them have high carbs, but it will curb that itch to have something crunchy. Jen

When dou you start shopping clothes?
jlg replied to theninside's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Girl, Go shopping now. I am having the same issue. I haven't really felt like I have lost a lot of weight. I went from an original high weight of 267, then pre-op was 249 and 238 the day of surgery and I am 219 as of today. WhooHoo:thumbup:. But with that, I want from a tight 22/24 to a size 18 now. Don't get me wrong, I love the weight loss. I really don't see it until I try to put on clothes though. The problem is, I lost my butt. My husband had the lapband too and his pants fall off him, (he never had a but though):bored:. But I am looking like I am wearing a saggy diaper that leaks :smile2:. Hubby thinks it's funny when he said it, but I was like "damn, where did my ass go". So it gave me a reason to go shopping. Let that be your reward. Go shopping, and make yourself feel better:wink_smile:! Plus, that's the worse thing that you can do to yourself, is continue to dress yourself in large clothes. My doctor even suggested either giving them away or donating the clothes. That way, you will have nothing to wear if you start to gain weight. Think about it, that's how we as big women hid ourselves, we started to buy larger and larger clothes and we eventually began to "fit" into them. Go shopping and have a ball:thumbup: You Rock!!! What convention? I didn't know that there was a convention, can you provide more info on this. Thanks,

Gurgling...I was so embarrassed
jlg replied to readytoloselbs's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My stomach has been doing the gurgling sound and I have been bringing food back up as well if I don't chew properly and it's too big to go down. So I am going to get some Fluid removed at my next fill appointment on the 3rd of September. jlg -

:cursing: Ladies, I have been taking the Biotin and taking my Multivitamin in hopes of prevneting this, but it's not working. I've been quiet about it, but I guess I shouldn't have been, but I had a fill on the 11th and I was overfilled. I knew it when I was trying to drink that damn Water in the lobby of the office and I started having gurgling noises. I figured that it was just tight right then and that it would eventually loosen up. But it hasn't. My next appointment is next week and I am going to tell them to take some out because I try to eat, but I can barely keep anything down. I know it was stupid, but I figured if I could deal with it for a couple of weeks (three weeks between fills now) that I would be able to lose more weight quicker. I'm a smart woman, but dumb logic got the best of me this time. I hadn't really noticed the hair loss myself until I combed my hair in the bathroom over the sink and I looked in the sink and freaked out. My husband noticed it and was just sweeping it up in our bathroom and never said anything. I've never had a weave, wig, ponytail or anything (hard to believe I know :huh2:). But a sista can't afford to be walking around with no hair at all. I have a cute face, but I wouldn't wanna rock a short style either. I need advice to be able to keep my do! In the morning I can only drink hot tea, because anything else that I eat always comes right back up, no matter how little I bite or how much I chew. Most of the time, since my fill on the 11th, I have hot tea in the morning, no lunch or either a small salad with chicken if I can keep it down and for dinner, usually chicken or seafood or a steak. I can usually keep down whatever I eat for dinner (not really sure why). I'm gonna have them take out some of the Fluid because I know better, but I need to work quickly to save my hair. I have the biotin, I have the multi-Vitamin and I have started on taking the Protein shakes again to make sure that I am getting in the necessary protein. Any advice to help me out?:confused2:

Sandra627, I am actually a Regional HR Manager and the previous post is correct. They cannot ask you what the procedure is that you are having and more importantly you are not obligated to tell them anything! The Principal should know better, because if you did her, even if you slipped up, and she told someone else, this would be a violation of your HIPPA rights and you could legally sue. Not that I would move in that direction. Just tell them that it's personal and you appreciate her concern, but it's not anything she needs to be concerned about. But thank you for being concerned enough to ask. And walk away. That needs to be the end of the conversation. Let me know if you have any questions. Jlg

What benefits have you experieince since being Banded?
jlg posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've only been banded since Jun 13, 2008 and I'm down 22lbs. I know that it doesnt' sound like a lot, but I have noticed a difference in my clothes and how they fit as well as how I feel. My husband was banded on June 6, 2008 and he's down almost 40lbs. He's not even working out, just going to work. I've noticed that when I hug him, we are so much closer together and his head has gotten smaller ! Seriously, he used to have a big head! I feel happier, maybe it's because the sex seems soo much better (I know TMI! I have so much more energy while I am at work, and when I'm at home playing with the kids. I want to play with them, not just send them to the game room to watch tv. Realizing that I will one day be soon will be one of those skinny bitches that I wanted to hit in the head with a baked potato (extra sour cream, bacon bits and cheese please  ) ROFLMAO!!!! But seriously, who would have ever thought that I would hear the words come out of my mouth that I wasn't hungry, or better yet that I forgot to eat because I wasn't hungry :confused2:. Now that is some crazy shit! Just typing this, I feel like I am about to cry, because I am realizing that I took the first step in getting my life back. I used to hate getting up early in the morning, but I find myself getting up at 5am to make sure that I get my exercise in before I get the kids up and go to work :Banane34:. I find myself buying clothes sizes smaller now, knowing that I will eventually get into them. Not much smaller, but a size 16 to 14 vs. the 22 that I was wearing (I'm a 20 now). I feel like I am back in college, because I want to go out more and have drinks or go dancing. I still can't bring myself to buy shirts without a cap sleeve because I hate my arms, but I know that I will evenutally get there. My initial goal was to go back to my college Homecoming which is the week of my birthday in October, but then I figured that I was doing it for a group of people that I haven't seen in over 10 years (am I giving away my age now:biggrin:). I'm just realizing that I love me so much more, not because I had the surgery, but because I am realizing that this is the person that I should be. Someone who values herself and no longer hides when someone wants to take a picture. I see myself in a different light now. So ok, here it is................... Better sex  Cuter and smaller clothes :huh2: Closer hugs  Going out more and having fun:thumbup: Being a skinny bitch  Just loving me more  P.S. A shout to all of the ladies who are feeling me right now, because I know this is hard, but it will definitely be worth it (correction, we're worth it). -

MzReeda, I went to GNC and got the Isopure chocolate shake. I fot the really big container. It was about $28 dollars for the container, but it was totally worth it. Each shake is about 12oz with 50 grams of Protein and zero carbs. It's pretty good, just make sure that you use very cold water:thumbup:. The last thing you wanna be drinking is a warm chocolate shake:cursing:. Jen

Questions about Exercise, Low Carb and Work Out clothes!
jlg posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ladies, Ok, running is out for me unless I want a black eye :glare:! So I am working out on my elliptical machine and walk on my treadmill at home. I purchased the Biggest Loser DVD's (all four of them) and those are fantastic. Too many lunges for me, but I do them. I won't even try the jumping jacks (the girls are too big:ohmy:), but what are you doing for exercise. Just trying to get an idea of what is working for everyone else on there. I don't think I am losing as fast as I should be, I know I am just at 7 weeks out, but the majority of my weight loss was before I was banded. I have my second fill today, but I have never felt any restriction since I got banded. Even the day of the surgery. I came home and drunk a 12oz Protein shake without any issues. I feel tightness when I eat something dry (chicken or steak) but that is about it. Most of the time I stop eating because I know I shouldn't be eating that much. Are any of you doing low carb (Atkins or South Beach) and if so, is it helping. Also where are you buying your work out clothes from, particularly a sports bra? Ok, I know I snuck three topics in this one, but just looking for some answers. Thanks ladies -
Sheila,
I was going through and I saw you pictures and I am in awe of how great you look. I wanted to know what you have done with regards to exercise and food choices that got you to where you are now. I'm making progress slowly but surely, but I want so badly to be where you are. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
jennifer
