I called my doctor's office and they told me to try warm liquids for today (chamomille tea) and to go to their office tomorrow if it doesn't get better. I tried sipping some broth while walking around here in the office and it seems to have gone down. If I still can't get anyhting down, I will go to the drs first thing tomorrow morning. I don't want to spend a weekend like this!

I went for my 6th fill yesterday and I was able to drink the water they gave me and that afternoon I was able to drink about half of a SlimFast shake. From that point forward I have not been able to drink any liquids! I have thrown up everything I drink and I am worried that I might need an un-fill. Do you think if I stick this thriough, the band will losen a bit? I imagine as I lose weight from not being able to gte anyhting down, the band will losen a bit, right? Should I give it a couple of days to see? Thank you!

What will likely happen is you will "stick this through" and end up in the emergency room over the weekend! Call and get a slight unfill now! You can get dehydrated fairly quickly! Thank you, I think I will do that. I don't want a visit to the ER!

When did the weight begin to come off?
monicasf posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on June 27, 2008. I had my 4th fill last week and I am finally getting restriction *yay*!! I lost 24 lbs in the whole preop liquid diet phase but since then it has been up and down 3 lbs!!! Is the weight going to come off faster now that I have restriction? Some of my firends that had the surgery told me they didnt start losing weight considerably until their 6th fill. I would love to hear experienced bandsters tell me when their weight began to fall off. Thanks! -
I am soooo loving this thread!! I bought some of the WASA crackers and I loved them!! When you guys post "so and so on WASA" is it in 1 wasa? I had 2 but truly I could been satisfied with just the first one. b- slim fast optima l- WASA with cream cheese, roasted peppers and edamame (2) d- WASA with pepperjack spread and broccolli (2) s- 3 artichokes with chipotle mayo
-
B- SlimFast Optima (Capuccino Delight) L- 3/4 cup mixed veggies with olive oil and some grated cheese D- Grilled red and yellow peppers, cream cheese on WASA (which I bought after reading this thread, I hope I like them)

When did the weight begin to come off?
monicasf replied to monicasf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, Wow! Your post really made my day. I am 35, I live in Frisco TX, and my goal is to be in the 120s. I am really inspired by your progress!! What do you normally eat? -

I was banded in June 27 and so far I had only gotten one fill. I lost 23 lbs pre-op and have not lost anything else since then!!! At first I was very careful with my food choices, I did the liquid thing to the tee, but now that I can have normal food I have been trying different foods and I can eat EVERYTHING, I mean, cake, bread, burgers, fries, all of the stuff you are not supposed to be able to eat with the band. I also feel that I can eat big quantities of stuff. Will this get better with my second fill?? If can't wait to feel restriction!!! -
30 days post-op and starting to yo-yo...
monicasf posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am starting to worry.... so far I have lost 20lbs but since I started eating solids I have slowly figured out that I can eat about anyhting (I haven't tried breads or steak, I'm too scared) and now my weight goes up a few pounds and then comes off again and I am starting to panick. The fluctuation is just 2 lbs but I can't seem to get over the 20 lb mark. My first fill is next week but I have heard that sometimes it can take up to 6 fills to give you the right restriction and I am worried I will be yo-yoing til then. I try to eat healthy, but there is a difference between eating just liquids and mushy stuff to eating real food!! Please tell me this first fill will make a bit of difference... Also, I don't know what size my band is, I have read the forums and I see that there are several sizes, I have the realize band, does anyone know if it comes in diff sizes?? -
30 days post-op and starting to yo-yo...

Thank you guys, I am happy to know there are several of us in bandster hell =). I guess we just need to hang in there making good food choices. I hope this upcoming fill helps me a little bit. Have you strated excercising yet? My doctor said 6 weeks but I am wondering if I could walk in the treadmill for 30-45 mins. Any thoughts? -
I don't remember a thing!!! Don't eeven worry about it!! You will do great!!

Hi, don't give up. I also was told by the general doctor that I would never get approved by the insurance company because my BMI was too low and I had no comorbidities. I cried for a while and then decided I was going to do it anyways and applied for a loan. I got approved in 5 minutes!! I used CareCredit but there are several available. I had my surgery on June 27th and I am down 20lbs!! I will be paying for this surgery for 7 years but I figured I am worth it. Don't give up, you can always go via the self paid option, think of it as an investment, the payments are way less than what you would normally pay for a car or furniture. (My payments will be $190/month). Don't give up!!!

Hi!!! I was banded on June 27th and I have your excat same question. I followed the liquid diet and mushies and all that stuff to a tee but now with solids I feel I can eat pretty much anything (still haven't tried bread or Pasta or lettuce or steak...I'm too afraid) and I feel I'm probably eating too much. I have lost 20 lbs. which is great but I'm scared I'm eating too much!! What do you normally eat? I normally have: Breakfast 2 egg white omelette with cheese and salsa; or 1 slim fast; or 1 cup oatmeal and berries lunch 1 cup soup; or 1 cup mashed potatoes and veggies; or 1 big baked sweet potatoe with sugar free syrup and light butter dinner 1 can tuna with mayo and 1 cup broccoli; or a handfull of tortilla chips and Beans and cheese; or one Soup (the whole thing even though it says 2.5 servings per can

Hi Pam, I was also banded on June 27! How are you doing? I am on my last day of mushies and I am soo very nervous about eating real food and something getting stuck! So far I have folllowed the diet to a tee and have not had any discomfort, throwing up or sliming. I think I will start solids with canned chicken and tuna and well cooked soft veggies. Are you already on solids?

Hi!! I live in Frisco and was banded on June 27th. I didn't have anyones support for tis but I did it anyway!! On top of that I did self pay and so far I don't regret any of it. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. You will do great!!

Hope someone out there can help me......
monicasf replied to zukagirl22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was banded on June 27th and I deffinetely can tell you that I didn't move much for the first 2-3 days. I really don't think you will be able to go to your class, the pain meds make you really drowsy and tired. I would time the banding so that you don't have to be anywhere for the first 3 days (at least). Good luck!!! -
Took Excedrin now freaking out!
monicasf replied to monicasf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

7 days after band and loving it!!!!!
monicasf replied to monicasf's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Lorrie, I am so happy to hear the band is working for you too!! I am sure after the fills you will keep dropping pounds left and right. Lets keep in touch! -
I got banded last Friday (June 27th) and I am amazed at how well I have been feeling. So far I have lost 15 pounds so on average about a pound a day. I wonder how that will change when I start solids. My only concern is that the palms of my hands keep peeling and I haven't gotten my period this month. Has anyone experienced this as well?
