  1. Thanks so much everyone for your helpful advice. I am going to do my best to get some more calorie intake and keep pushing to drink more liquids. It's so nice to have you all here. Thanks again!
  2. I am really about to lose it. I had the gastric bypass on October 28th. I lost 31 lb in the first 5 weeks. The last 2 weeks I've actually gained 2 lb, which really frustrates me because I haven't even been eating. Just a couple bites of greek yogurt here and there. I got ulcers after my surgery, so EVERYTHING hurts to go down. I know I don't drink enough water. I've never liked water and I try to drink it but I have a really hard time. I just don't understand how I could actually gain 2 pounds!! Anorexic people never eat, yet they lose weight, so I don't understand the whole, eat to lose weight concept.

Pain at the opening of stomach

I just wanted to give an update on my issue. I ended up going to the ER on the 27th of November because the pain while eating was not getting better. Infact, it seemed to be getting worse. On top of that it seemed that even just a couple bites of food or drink and I was vomiting. It turns out I have an ulcer. They've put me on some medication but I understand they can be pretty tricky to heal and that they can be easily re-agitated. I'm really only able to eat yogurt, creamy soup and baby food at this point. Even that hurts after a couple bites and makes me nauseous. I'm taking anti nausea medication, but it doesn't seem to help much. I'm trying to look on the bright side and tell myself I'm going to lose even more weight, faster but I miss eating.

Pain at the opening of stomach

Personally, it happens even when I'm drinking, but worse when I'm eating something. Almost always on the third bite. It's like I've swallowed a key sideways and it's dragging down into my stomach. I've stopped eating solid foods and gone back to liquids and puree. Hoping that will help.

Pain at the opening of stomach

I am going through the same thing. Wish I had some answers for you. After 2 bites, I get a pain that feels almost like the food is tearing into my stomach as it goes down. It makes me not want to eat at all. Sometimes it even does it with liquid! Btw my bypass surgery was 10/28/20

SO CLOSE BUT FEELING SO HOPELESS

Hello Hop_Scotch, thanks for your reply. I'm getting my surgery through Kaiser and following the pre-op diet they gave me. It's called the 1200 calorie diet but the food is portioned by weight, not by calories. I cant have slimfast it optifast. I have been following the diet, but I have cheated a couple times. I eat mostly chicken, tuna, cottage cheese, potatoes, broccoli, carrots and things like that.
  7. I weighed 302 before I started this journey about a month ago. I lost 12 pounds and then had my appointment with my surgeon. He wants me to lose 10 more pounds and told me to call in after I've lost 5 of that 10 pounds to set a surgery date. I've gone from literally sitting in my bed all day, eating A LOT of whatever sounded good at the moment. Now I feel like I'm eating practically nothing and I'm walking a mile to a mile and a half every day. I've lost 2 of the 5 pounds but I CAN NOT LOSE ANOTHER POUND. I go from 290 to 288, back up to 290 and back to 288 again. I step on the scale and I just want to cry. Honestly, I am on the verge of just starving myself to lose this 3 pounds to get my appointment. I don't know what else to do. I thought the weight would be falling off with all the huge changes I made, but it's just not happening.
