Hungry right after sleeve
WInston223322 replied to Kristen925's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you sure your hungry? Or is it Head Hunger or Acid Reflux Try this trick and I agree with above .....DO NOT RUSH TO SOLID FOODS! Make yourself a good broth about 10 oz sip that over two hours. Make sure its a homemade or good broth, Not wallmart Chicken broth! I prefer to make my own. Start with a vegetable broth - Just google it easy to make. Also cut out 10% of the water they say to use. That will for sure stop any hunger pains, if you have them You will learn to love broth and soup during this phase, As you heal it tastes good and is great for you -
I'm underweight but can't eat much
WInston223322 replied to Bastian's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
No offense taken, I have a cabinet full of protein bars and better ways then sugar blast, But as weird as it seems they do not work for me. A big problem is I am extremely active now, So burning off tons of calories. Once i hit the weight and got all the Vits and Minerals in line I have gone Bat Poop crazy - Riding the Harley, Fishing, Taking the Dog all over the place, Just way to active. Me and My Nutra girl tried everything, Honey and Avacodo was the go to. In fact I bought Hives and have bees at my office to make High end Honey. No go! I used to eat 3 oz of honey in Oatmeal every day and put honey on steak, Her guess is I need to be blasted with all the Freakin Chemicals and Preservatives in Proccessed Food. FYI that is what got me into this mess was the Food Industry chemicals and Sugars. The old Less fat more sugar scam. So far this week been holding pretty good without any Bad foods. Ok maybe some Beer Nut bar mix, and some Canned Cheese Whiz. But Have not lost anything this week. PM me when you get a chance i just Pm you AJ -
I'm underweight but can't eat much
WInston223322 replied to Bastian's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I know there are healthy things but they did not work for me. I ate alvados and all the healthy ones and still was losing - It took the sugar boast to get my body from burning fat to burning sugar! Trust me I was shocked when my Nutra girl added M and M s to my daily feed plan. But it did work. You have to find something to cause a stall is all i was saying. There was a lady on here months back that had to drink a glass of wine to keep her stall. She tried everything but seemed that sugar boast at night stalled her. I have seen may posts on how to stop losing on here from wine to butter to shakes to sugar. Everyone is different I TOTALLY AGREE DO NOT DO Sugar UNLESS YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO NOT GO BACK TO OLD HABBITS. Will power! There is no way with this frame i can get to 160 pounds, I would look even more feabile then i do now. at 200 I am to thin according to those who are around me This pictures was taken at 208 No way i could lose another 48 pounds -

Need some help or something!
WInston223322 replied to Katheryn0303's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone is different been said above. But you may want to spend just a little money and get a Nutritionist to help mix up your diet. You body is sayin F@#ck No i want to keep it, You are saying Nope gotta go! So let the battle begin - I would mix up the Carbs and calories different each week. I did it and it really worked, I had a Nutra person to lead me. Sunday - Sunday next week - Go real low calories, 900 or less, As much water as you can, Up your cabs 10% Sunday - Sunday following week - 1100 calories mostly veggies but Higher Protein - lower water Sunday - Sunday 3 rd week - Intermingling fasting, All protein low calories Low carbs You get the point you are changing your calories, carbs and proteins each week to trick your body into burning, The fasting was a key for me broke everything free Good luck stay focused you will win this battle -
Do not follow my advice or direction as a doctor I drink just about every other day - No where near like before but My doc said after 6 months a occasional drink will not kill you! So i just pour a bigger drink and call it a drink! But I am no poster child on this site for following the rules so you make your decision. As for Beer I can only handle about 5 oz the carbonation fight back. For sure it will crush you - Straight to hammered Especially in he beginning. I drink my Vodka Protein water or Vodka Gator aid to fight the dehydration issue So yes you can still enjoy it - But if you have to have it = My answer would be no

Yes it is you are exactly my life = All i can say is get healthy and the sleeve is a great tool Look at me and Superman and the others on the mens forum - It will be a great tool in the battle - Below is a 6 month before and after - You are next step up and get healthy

I agree can not be handled here - But as a guy my view is he is being selfish and Jealouse - You marry the person for who they are not what they look like! My x wife is still large, and we do have a physical relationship still. I am not going to say i do not notice he weight but i let it pass and I realize I care and married her for who she is not what she looks like. She is the mother of my children and I have been with her for 25 years, Now she is going to get the surgery after the Covid Nightmare is over. Of Course another bill for Me! but what she looks like does not matter to me I just want her healthy and Happy You both need a counselor ASAP -

Your experience with emotional eating/support group suggestions?
WInston223322 replied to Jane-Doe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is the only place i used for support and questions and found it to be 100 percent of what i needed! But it took a hard crash mentally at 3 months for me to find this place. I had to go to my doctors support group for the first 2 months and found it toxic place full of whiners and complainers. Some people were good but most were just there to vent -
Who started at the 400's
WInston223322 replied to HeatherWillLose34's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was close 377 and probably was in the 390 range at times -
No i totally understand Keto! The Miami diet, Dr akins, Slim fast, Oprah, and all the other diet plans ...........I can read! What I am saying is that is a diet, You need a lifetime balanced healthy eating schedule Not a diet. You are not on a diet, The Vets here will also tell you this. Took me a few months to read this site to figure that out, Bottom line You are on a lifestyle eating habits change for the better for life! Nobody said eat carbs or junk food. Took me a while to realize post WLS i was not on a diet, I was changing insane eating behavior and eating healthy and properly for life. During my journey except for some fasting was i never on a Diet. I understand it is not easy to get on this type of eating routine, But it is not a Diet it is your journey and your meal planning being healthy and under control that will give you what you are looking for.

I'm underweight but can't eat much
WInston223322 replied to Bastian's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Going thru this now also - I have found WLS doctors to be not the go to - See a throat guy, My issue is also the throat from the Surgery. Seems the hose down your throat and the acid reflux caused a restriction. I am set to got in and stretch the throat shortly! Due to covid 19 a Freakin mess. Took me months to figure out why i could not eat alot, Thought it was a stricture but turned out to be a throat issue. Not to beat a dead horse but i had to resort to insane ways to get in calories, ensure drinks and yes i use Candy and Junk food to pile on 300 calories a day. Things like crackers and Bar cheese, Fritos and dips, Halloween size candy bars stopped the loss. Be careful they can develop bad habits, I have insane will power so for me it is just calories, but Easy calorie boasters. Not good choices but can cause a stall if used properly. Go slow when i started i over did it and tossed it up! I mean really slow like two little candy bars a day Half at a time. the sugar will get you big time. Once i figure out how to get the surgery done will stop this bad behavior but for now buying me time -
New Protein Water at Sam's
WInston223322 replied to over65's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
saw that water last few weeks have cases in my fridge - so far good taste Great choice as for the soups let me help you out a little I have found that if you get the pre made one cup ones - Freeze dried for WLS much easier to use. I used them Pre Op and still to this day use them every day. quick go to for me One thing you are not going to want to do is eat the same broth or soup Nice thing is with the packets you can use your kurig to make them in one minute. I got the Instant hot water machine mainly cuz i do not drink coffee. My daily go to around 9 am is one cup of the packet soup, I pre make shredded chicken or pork or beef and a little rice. They are ready to go in plastic ramekins and just drop in cup with soup mix and add hot water. quick 1 minute meal and I am good to go aj -
Big day tomorrow!

Sleeve is a great Permanent fix all - Welcome -
I can not be the only out here who still has no clue how to cook small! I swear I am either dumber then a bag of hammers or just can not contemplate portion. Every time i Prep or cook for myself I end up throwing out over half. I just cleaned the fridge and there were so much wasted food. I Prep for two teenagers separate cooking and nothing ever left. I prep for myself and way over cook. You would think at about a year I would figure this stuff out? Nope So the lesson to all you about to do this, Shock and awe is coming on how much you can consume and how little you need to survive!

What Percent of Excess Body Weight Loss is Normal on the Pre-Op Diet
WInston223322 replied to andrastesgrace's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most of us here i have seen loose 10-18 in the two weeks. But be careful that is not going to be that way the whole time but that seems to be the average. I am male and lost 23 in 10 days but most of it was water and shortly after surgery bounced up a few. Everyone is different so just do the best you can and stick to the plan and Journey -
Newbie considering surgery. Help with negative thoughts?
WInston223322 replied to Kam1177's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was not predicting was just showing her it is possible and not impossible that is Just the average I just googled it! I agree .......some weeks it falls off and some it stalls! But She has to realize it is possible! Post above was to get her Mind set of being impossible corrected! It is very possible! Don\t forget we are Male so we shredded it My female friends averaged about 4-12 a month around here;. You can not argue this fact - Keep the dang Calories Low and Burn as many every day as you can!
