No one talks about. To much weightloss
sweetsmith78 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I’m 2 plus years out of gastric bypass. I have lost all my weight plus some. According to the stats I’m under weight. I have ate absolute junk food to get my weight up. Just makes me feel like crap. Just to much sugar. I eat my fair share with in reason. My stomach seems not to be growing. So I can put more food in. I’m really starting to worry about other health issues that I tried to avoid by doing the surgery. I’m looking in healthy even I can see. When I’m 60 am I going to have issues maintaining or gaining then. I was not prepared for this. People are fully focused on how fast and how much. But not the bigger picture. I’m sure I’m not the only one dealing with this. People who are going thru this. I would like to here your opinion. -
Just curious to see what the amount of food people are eating. After gastric sleeve. How cups or ounces at a time?

Monthly weigh in and measurements 7 months post op

Wow congrats on the success! I’m a few years out and still step on the scale daily. Daily scale ways show only ounces or pound at a time . Not like your where you step on scale less and see the results in bigger number. -

Normal hygiene products, comfy clothes. Sounds silly but a sippy cup. Helps learn to drink -
I went thru the same thing. For the past few years it comes and goes. It’s a battle I fight every day. Remember the amount, I believe if your have real hunger eat . If you have head hunger find something to do or eat something little. If I waited to long head hunger would send me into a serious food freenzy.

Supposed to go for a scope. Rather figure this out with some help. Went to Mexico years ago. Come back to the states to find out that the spleen was lacerated. The Bariatric dr here acted like a spoiled child that I went to Mexico. Very uncomfortable seeing a dr. Thanks guys for mentioning restriction not normal. I didn’t think it was either but then again. It’s all still very new 2 years later. Peanut butter and a spoon! -

The foods that you mention nuts , butters and avocados, but also dried and fresh fruits, whole grain breads, potatoes (sweet and white), oatmeal, full fat dairy, I have ate from day one. Except pasta , high carb food. Are you saying to eat pasta , high carb foods? Of course I have since trying to put weight on. Healthy dense calorie food does not help with weight gain. But that’s for me. Everyone is different. I do need to mention my stomach feels more restricted. I was up to two cups of food 1 year out. Now being 2 plus years I’m down to 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup. Any ideas anyone. -

Considering surgery in Mexico, curious about post op care
sweetsmith78 replied to baribetty's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had my surgery done in Mexico. I was in severe pain on the flight back to the states. Thinking it was just gas. Instinct told me to go to e.r. The Dr treating me here in the states was a complete a@@ hole. He told me that he can refuse my treatment. I was hospitalized for 3 days. He asked me why I went to Mexico. I told him that Mexico is much cheaper ,I don’t have to play the head games you require and the waiting game. He was not impressed. Things can happen here in the states or on another country but please please do your research before going! -

I'm 2 years out I've had my ups and downs of weight loss. I've have worried daily in my success of weight loss. On how many calories, rite vitamins, exercise, list goes on. I may have been the lucky one or am I? I went thru the phase of regret not able to enjoy the food I once loved. But I loved loosing the weight. Slowly. Sex drive went down hill. Hair falling out skin crepping. " Blood levels are normal" . Started out with small weight loss goals. Reached my goals. Over and over again my goal weight was 125. I told my self I have to stick to a healthy weight for me . Not what the experts say I should weigh. Then it was a goal of 115. in my head I'm not satisfied I'll do another goal of 110. So I decided it's time to maintain my weight or gain 10 pounds back. Since I'm now 100 lbs. I'm trying to gain weight. And I'm struggling!! I want to gain. should I eat the three C's cake, cookies, ice cream? Of course not what are healthy fattening foods? The positives. Looking good feeling good.

I often cringe when writing on this forum. Their for some will criticize me for my weight loss journey when some people ask why I got the surgery. Do to my size. I'm 5 foot small fram. Lower b.m.i. I have had great results. I lost really slow have reached my goals plus some. Healthier life style -
I'm about 2 years out from gastric sleeve. I have done my routine blood work. "Maybe not as much as I should have." From day one I never took supplements I pretty much eat a clean diet. But not really strict. My blood work for vitamins have been perfect. I'm not sure why the drs push vitamins ? Everyone is different!
