Well I did not have to lose wieght because I was not that big. Yes I weighed 270 but I am also 5'7. I have always been able to carry my weight well. Most of my weight was and is in my mid section, but they only will require you to lose weight before surgery if you are like really big. If they have not told you anything yet. I am sure it is because it is not a concern of theirs. I did take it upon myself to lose 8 pounds before I went in. I did that of course for obvious reasons, which are the healthier you are going on the better. I hope my answer helped =-)

You will be ok. You are covered by the blood of JESUS. Congrats on youe decision to change your life. I am Becca 34 female in los angeles. I was banded on 9/15/2009. I have lost a total of 41 pounds since surgery. My total lost is 29 because I lost 8 before surgery. I was 270 now I am 221. Lets keep in touch. GOD Bless

I was just recently banded on 9/15/08 and I went through the same thing. It is normal for you to have trouble burping along with the gas in your chest. I actually went to the ER the pain was so bad. Just be sure to walk every hour around your living room for as ong as you can. My chest pain finally subsided after 1 week and a 1/2. You will be fine and congrats on your weightloss!!!!!
