Could it be the inside stitch? If so it will eventually pop and stop hurting, just like that.

@LAJ23 agree totally. I think we are saying the same thing -

I think it’s decent advice to avoid starches during the weight loss period because you want to maximize the pounds you can get off. I do take exception to the notion that rice and bread are unhealthy choices. That is ridiculous as a blanket statement. -
Sleeve to...? Revision seeker
Circlesis replied to redhead_che's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
My thing was that DS has the best long term result, having had regain already. Does the doc you are consulting offer the DS? Only asking cause not as many do it. I asked dr why that is and he said it’s mostly to do with training and familiarity. -

Sleeve to...? Revision seeker

Hey I revised to DS 4 weeks ago tomorrow. I was 6 years out from sleeve. Insurance paid as it was treated as a new surgery and so I just had to do a regular qualification. No diets or anything, just whatever the insurance required. I think it took about 6 or 7 weeks to get scheduled from my initial consult. Do you know what procedure you are leaning toward? -
Sleeve to DS

I am 4 weeks out from revision to DS. For me things in that department got more normal at the 2ish week mark after starting mushy food/ purée. -
sleeved 10 days ago and I still feel horrible
Circlesis replied to Momofbell's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Agree try changing plain water for something else. I was never able to go back to plain without nausea after sleeve 6 years ago. Try pedialyte mixed with water to help with dehydration. Also mix up the temperatures by trying it room temp or trying warm tea. -
What I found was that my insurance didn’t care one way or the other about the previous surgery. The reason was that it was longer than a year since, so it was not considered to be a revision in their view. I suggest you call them yourself to be sure. Also highly suggest you go for bulky clothing and wear your heavy boots 😂

1 year after gastric sleeve problems...
Circlesis replied to Anna N.'s topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Panic and anxiety can feel just like what the OP described. It can happen like that when your body gets very run down like it did. I experienced something very similar years ago during law school. It took an ambulance ride to the hospital, anxiety medication and a lot of time to get it under control. I also had to improve my lifestyle and sleep habits. -
Insurance paid but I had to qualify with BMI 35 and comorbid conditions or BMI 40 without, just as with the original surgery.

Gastric sleeve surgery Tomorrow
Circlesis replied to mjp9281's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck to you and it is totally normal to feel anxiety right now. Resolve to stay on top of your pain meds (take them by the clock) this will help you keep control of any pain. -
Need to hear from VSG to DS revisioners
Circlesis replied to Goldy6575's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Today was kind of a bummer. This morning I had an episode of stomachache and vomiting. My best guess is that it was the avocado I had last night. It felt like a food intolerance kind of sick. Super surprised though considering there was nothing done to my stomach at all. I was never sick at all with sleeve. I have heard something similar about losing more when eating more with this DS. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m also not in normal food yet. I’m at 15 lb lost total. Today is my 3 week surgiversary. 5 pounds in the past week. -
Years ago I was required to do 3 monthly visits on Cigna, however same policy this year for 2nd surgery there was no such requirement. This time it was only one visit with the nutritionist, one psych clearance, one letter from pcp stating he recommends bari surgery for me. Second point - my surgeons office initially told me my plan didn’t cover Bariatrics at all. I called Cigna myself and in fact it was covered at 100%. 🤷♀️

I’m sorry your recovery was so rough! Congrats your losses so far and on getting through it. I recently revised from sleeve to DS myself.

Eggplant ricotta bake. It’s basically a lasagna without the noodles and was amazing I had it tonight! -

Whats does the hospital give for the gas ?

The active ingredient in gas x is Simethicone. I would look for a product containing it. -

Sleeve to Bypass for weight loss?
Circlesis replied to Christina760's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
My understanding from the doc is that revising to bypass is not ideal for much weight loss. If you have reflux that is something else to consider however. -

@GottaBeBlair that is a really good weight loss! I think I am one week behind you and I am at 9.5 pounds since day of surgery and like 5 before that from prep diet. I tried for a faster food re-entry but no dice. So here I am in week one of two on mushys. I do get some discomfort when eating harder foods. For example I when had white beans cooked with fresh broccoli rabe. The greens were slightly tough. Anyway, curious if anyone else had a similar experience. I was a little freaked out by it. Currently at almost 3 weeks out. -
Feel like something is wrong
Circlesis replied to Yourbestfriend's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chicken was one of the later foods for me. I would backtrack to easier foods again for a while to let your stomach calm down. Also, you have to find something that you can drink comfortably, it does not have to be plain water. That is not optional. Dehydration is no joke. Best of luck to you. -

VGS on August 5th- EVERYTHING I eat makes me sick
Circlesis replied to knbothwell's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Plain water makes me very sick to my stomach. I have to drink tea or flavored waters only. This started after I got the sleeve 6 years ago and never went away.
