    Thirty-year-old sleevers

Hi I'm 61 y/o and a colleague of mine had vsg a couple of yrs ago she is 50 something. She has mentor me thru this process. I can say her experience, which motivates me is remembering when post-op commence is EXERCISE and keep to your protein, and low carb intake. Yes there's loose skin, especially if you had it before you began to lose weight, but as you build muscle overtime, you can reduce it to a minimal degree. The amount of loose skin is dependent upon, as you may know, the amount of skin elasticity remaining. So for me, I expect to have an amount I may have to dress up (LOL). My colleague is a "beast" when it comes to exercise and she looks amazing, also her diet is vegan base. However, as have been commented, you are going to be so happy with your weight reduction, and when you stall be glad because you can use that to build muscle, and reduce fat. to get ahead of the loose skin, possibly If you loose fat quickly, you will gain loose skin quickly. Thirty something! Girl you're a babe. You are going to look magnificent.

    No bowel movement

Same happened, colace and hot coffee in the morning worked me. I also stopped the protein daily and went to every other day until I was finally unblocked. Which worked right away.

What helped me is not taking them all together, taking them with food like soup or shake, something thick and smooth.

    WATER

I am struggling to get my 60 oz per day of water I find it makes my stomach feel empty and nauseous. I didn't realize that by 7 weeks such a struggle would exist. Prior to surgery, it was a breeze drinking water, now, ugh

    Difficulty eating

It’s week 5 for me, and I’m having the same problems: can eat very little one day, feel slightly nauseated, but it subsides. Then some days feel great, but still eat vey little. I find it difficult to drink water it makes my stomach feel empty, only protein shakes, yogurt, smooth cool foods are soothing to eat. I find very little delight in eating, even when it’s food I enjoy. I can stomach soups: pea, lentil, chicken, but no more than 4oz at a time. It’s a struggle.

    A New Life

It has been one week ago Monday (3/2) I started my journey of no return. During the first five days, I became afraid, I thought I had made a mistake. I was in pain, from one of my incisions, suffering with head hunger, and not feeling comfortable after taking my liquids; mildly lethargic, nauseated, and suffering with the worst constipation. I felt there was nowhere for me to go mentally. The thought came to mind to use common sense. Since protein and pain meds can cause constipation, I chose to reduce my protein intake for one day, increase my stool softener, and increase my fluids. I also walked more, and did some reading on this site. The hospital, where my surgery was performed, provided the link to this site as a resource. The experiences of so many have truly assisted me to become unafraid, and forward moving. Thank you😘
  8. I cannot thank you enough for your words of wisdom.  I have carried them with me and it has helped me thru some tuff moments.  Again, thank u🤗
