  1. I am really starting to freak out, I feel like I have wasted a lot of money because I don't have the will power to not drink while eating. I am 3 weeks post op and I am able to eat as much as I was before I got the surgery, I know that drinking while eating is not helping but I'm really struggling. I am a mobile pet groomer in the 120 degree weather in Phoenix and I am drinking all day! I'm really hoping that once I get a fill I will be as restrained as i was the first week of post op, that was great! I could hardly eat anything and I lost 7lbs, but now I can eat anything and I have gained 3 of them back. I just really want to know, Is there anyway I can successfully lose weight with this band if I am drinking while eating or am I screwed. PLEASE HELP!
  2. Wow lunabeane, your not very friendly. I'm aware of the rules, and I know what I should be doing, but sometimes things are harder than they seem. I'm also aware that I will not dehydrate but that doesn't change how I feel when I'm eating. Anyways, thanks to all who responded kindly.
  3. I was told at least an hour if not more before you can drink. So that is why I have a hard time, when you are working outside in 120degree weather it's hard to not drink.
  4. Hi everyone, Well..today is day two of being post op and I'm still in a lot of pain. I was just wondering if this was normal? I know it's not the gas because I've been very good about getting up and walking around and there doesn't seem to be any pain traveling. It's more like my actual stomach is irritated, I can't drink anything cold or it hurts like heck, in fact anything other that room temperature Water is a killer. So the doctors nurse called and said to drink slower and make sure everything is room temp. Has anyone else experienced this? Or am I just a slow healer?
  5. Well I found out why I am so uncomfortable. I spoke with the Dr. and he said that because I have taken Vicodin consistently since I left surgery that my bowels are slowed and I might also be lactose intolerant. So I have to drink Clear liquids and chew gum and walk a lot! I took a 15 min walk today and have had a lot of Water and i'm starting to feel a little better. Although,....it's as if I can feel the port thing in me. Because when I'm laying in certain positions it is very uncomfortable. Thanks again for all the responses. OBTW, I want FOOD! Not tea, not Soup, good ol' food! Like, maybe chicken nuggets dipped in BBQ sauce with a side of mashed potatoes and some type of fizzy drink. Okay, I'll stop now. I know there is a reason why I had this surgery and I pray I can make the most of it.
  6. Hey, everyone I'm getting banded this Wednesday! I'm so nervous. I've been reading peoples posts that have a similar amount of weight to lose and I am starting to get discouraged. It seems like the less you have to lose, the longer it takes to come off. Does anyone know if this can be overcome by exercise. I would love to be at or near goal weight by Oct. 25 for my 6 year anniversary. Thanks for everyone that responds, Jillian
  7. P.S. Good luck NavywifeJenn, you'll be fine. I pray the best of luck for you.
  8. I'm in Surprise, AZ. I had my surgery done by Dr. Terry Simpson. The pain is pretty bad for me today but I also have a low tolerance for pain. I think after a couple of days I should be fine. Has anyone else been told to drink 2 gal of Water a day? Dr. Simpson mentioned that to me before surgery and I was like omg. I probably had 1/2 a gallon of liquids today and starting puking in my mouth, I don't think 2 gal is going to be probable.
  9. My surgery was at 10:00am, I got up and about at 11:30. I am very sore, the doctor makes it seem like your all good to go right after but I'm not experiencing that. I must say though, I am being a good girl and making sure that I get up and walk around the house often. This does help a lot with the gas pain...the Vicodin(hope i spelled it right) doesn't hurt either lol. I'm finding I have a lot of issues with head hunger already, looks like I will have my work cut out for me. Thanks again to all the well wishers and hope your doing well jeremiahsmommy. Jillian
  10. I know my goal is bit over the top but I was just wondering what everyone thought. So thanks for all the input. I'm not stuck on losing 80lbs in 4 months I just wanted to know if this was a possibility. Even if I don't lose that much I will still be happy with losing anything. Good luck Jeremiahsmommy I wish you all the best. This journey will be the best thing that has ever happened to me, the prospect of wearing clothes that don't come from plus size stores and feeling healthy and confident is unfathomable. So here goes.....Surgery is @ 10:30am tomorrow.:smile2: Thanks again everyone, Jillian

    Who's getting banded in June

I too will be banded in July, My surgery date is the 11th. I'm really nervous but super excited. I hope I have made a good decision.
  12. Hi my name is Jillian, I'm 24, 5'9 and 95lbs overweight. My first consultation with my lap band doctor is this Monday!!!!!!! I have a couple of questions. I am a pet groomer and am somewhat physical at work, how long do you think it will take to return to my job? I have a cesarean cut from an endometriosis surgery that was performed in 2005, do you think the surgeon will use that or do they always use the endoscopic version? Also... Considering my stats, does anyone know the likelihood of loose skin? Thanks, I'm so nervous and excited!
