Boater Girl replied to FINFAN3DP's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was just sleeved yesterday (and feeling great so far). I didn't realize I had a hernia until the EGD, but yes both were repaired at the same time for me as well. -

I'm joining those of you who are being sleeved on Wed, October 28th - just days from now ! I'm not nervous ... yet, but I'm sure it's coming! I've been just consuming as much information as possible to ensure that I'm ready for what's about to happen. Ready to move into the healthier me stage :)!! -

Anyone for October 2020?
Boater Girl replied to barbieater's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll join the club - like others, I was literally set to fly out in the middle of March for the gastric sleeve but had to cancel because of the crazy Covid. Was so sad since I was literally one day away from the flight and all of the pre-op diet prep. But it was definitely for the best. I'm now scheduled for October 28th! Flying out in less than 2 weeks. On day 2 of the pre-op diet and it's going ok. I find it practically impossible to drink 64 oz of water though. I feel like i'm drinking non-stop and I still can't get it all down. I'll keep working on it! To me it's still not really "real" yet, but definitely will be once I prep to go to the airport! -
Anyone decide WLS was for them very quickly?
Boater Girl replied to thewifehere's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I guess everyone has to have their own comfort level with their decision-making process. In my case, I literally just did the same thing!! My husband has been nothing but supportive and encouraging. Although I'm older and had suffered with the yo-yo for about 25 years, I had just turned 50 and I was just tired of continuing to ache in my hips and knees. I knew it was only gonna get worse. it's one of those things that when you know, you know. You just have to know what you're getting yourself into. I'm also really gonna get professional help to take a hard look at what behaviors were behind the weight as well. Gonna try to treat the whole person. I did a lot of research - like A LOT - and came to my decision within the same time period. I did visit my doctor who confirmed that it would help. We did blood work and confirmed that there was nothing medically stopping me. There would only be good things on the other side. So me and my husband jumped in with both feet. Surgery scheduled on Mar 23! -
Any upcoming March 2020 Sleevers out there??
Boater Girl replied to Pansypicker's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'll join this club - also travelling to Las Vegas on Mar 18th for surgery on Mar 23rd. Right now I'm finishing up all of the food funerals, but start pre-op diet on Monday. I'm sure that's when it will really feel "real". It's so awesome to have a place to find so much experience and get so many questions answered! Happy there are so many folks in the same boat as me!!
