Feeling frustrated and sad
Elidh replied to Horseshowmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with those comments above. After I had my sleeve surgery, I didn’t weigh myself for 2 weeks. Now, just once a week. -

Congrats and best wishes on your surgery! During the puréed stage, refried beans with melted cheese were a particular fave of mine. -
Maybe sugar free popsicles?

Hi Vickie - Yes, I was cold when I got home from surgery, and that was in July! It’s not so bad now, but I do use an electric blanket at night.....

Hungry and not even a full week yet?
Elidh replied to ZeeWP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, that gnawing feeling I had post- op was alleviated by omeprazole. -
I was averaging about 500 calories/day when, at 5 weeks post-op, my nutritionist said I needed to increase to 800-1000 cal/day, because at this point, at 400-500 cal/day, my body would stop losing weight. She suggested adding a snack of nuts, or adding avocado to a meal, olive oil, or nut butters. I increased my calories, and it hasn’t seemed to slow down my weight loss, which is pretty slow (about 1-2 lbs/week).

60 years young and having surgery
Elidh replied to tahoegirl96118's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 67 and had it done July 9, 2020. I feel really fortunate - no pain or nausea. I didn’t take anything stronger than OTC Tylenol. Doing great! -

Gastric Sleeve Surgery is it painful?
Elidh replied to Nikki50's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery day before yesterday. I expressed my concern to the surgeon that I cannot tolerate narcotics, opioids, etc., and even the most potent anti-nausea drugs do not touch the awful unrelenting vomiting I have with them (sorry, TMI). So he administered a TAP block when I went under anesthesia. Post-op, I had IV ibuprofen, toradol, and oral liquid Tylenol. Absolutely no pain whatsoever in the hospital. I had minimal discomfort last night at home, but no worse than if I had done a bunch of sit-ups. I was quite pleased 😊 -
I just had surgery 2 days ago, and I am freezing. It can't be due to weight loss! The weather has been in the 80-90's during the day, and I shivered all last night with two blankets on top. Tonight I'm getting out the down comforter. ☺️
