About Me
When my mother was my age (actually a little younger) she suffered a massive stroke and wound up spending the rest of her life partially paralyzed and in a wheelchair. She also suffered kidney failure and was on Dialysis 3x a week for many year. She was overweight her entire life, and never took care of herself--or perhaps she tried and fell into the same rut I am (or was!) in, with yo-yo dieting and constant failure. She died young and never got to see her grandchildren.
I don't want that to be me.
I want to retire and live a long, happy, active and healthy life with my husband. I want to not only see my grandchildren, but enjoy being with them, playing with them, traveling with them. That is why I decided to have this surgery. Not for looks or vanity (although it will be nice to not be ashamed of my appearance), but to give myself a chance to live life to the fullest.
