5 days post op no weight loss
CammyC replied to Jeep-girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Jeep-girl im day 8 post-op. I gained my first few days home. I didn’t lose my first couple of pounds until Day 6. You’re on track. I was freaking out too. I was googling sleeve failed? Or Pouch too big? If you search weight gain after surgery in the forums you will see many of us gained initially after surgery. I focused on other things—walking, measuring inches, journaling and coming out of the fog of the pain meds. And a good friend gave me this advice: remain calm and be confident that it worked. Put that positive energy out there, honey. You got this and it worked and you are fabulous and becoming more fabulous every day. 🙂 -
I can have this starting tmrw! I’ll be going to get some fairlife milk in the morning.

Did anyone have complications post op
CammyC replied to Socee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, walking is soooo important I was roaming the halls of my home like a ghost. The first couple of days I held a pillow to my stomach for a bit of pressure and the past few days I’ve been walking our driveway like a mad woman.lol -
Did anyone have complications post op
CammyC replied to Socee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had LGS on March 3rd. My mom said I was in surgery around an hour and a half - two hours. It was outpatient and I was out of the hospital within two hours after surgery on my way home. The gas pain so bad I had to get out of there and start walking lol. I haven’t had any complications. My dr had me come in for IV fluids the next day at his office and that helped a lot. Day 7 post op today and feeling great! I’m happy to be off the pain meds and out of that fog. -

Ugh, I hated the pre-op all liquid diet and so happy that part is over. I switch to full liquids tmrw. I’ve been living on protein shakes and sf popsicles and sf jello for a week now. 7 days post-op today ❤️ -
@Krestel a literal pain in the ass 😂

March 2020 Surgery Folks Come On in!
CammyC replied to Mello1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@junesbaby2016@gmail.com How exciting!!! I had mine on March 3rd! Congratulations and welcome. I’m a newbie too and this site is a wealth of knowledge. -
I was sleeved on 3/3 and I have been sneezing more than usual. I’m going to be more conscious of it now to see if it’s happening around drinking protein time. This is is so cool to know.

I have my sleeve on March 3rd and I had a couple of days of fatigue and weakness. My surgeon advised me to come into his office to get some fluids once I did that I felt like I was ahead of the battle of dehydration. Day 7 I feel 90% better. Just keep sipping as much as you can. I hope you feel better soon.

At my half-way point in weight loss!
CammyC replied to RobertaMSN's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow! How exciting! I’m only a week out but I actually feel smaller today. It’s so encouraging! Thanks for sharing your experience -
That is terrible you’re still having those pains. Have you thought about consulting a GI dr? A month out is still soon but if it’s affecting your life that may need medical attention. Hope it gets better for you.

It seems so long while going thru the pre-op liquid diet but those last few days really fly by! You got this! I’m one week out and finally feel better and coming out of the fog of pain meds I was on. Thank Goodness. -
When to transition from liquids to soft foods
CammyC replied to Mkak6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am clear liquids one week. Full liquids for week two and then week three I can start purée. I would def listen to your dr and your body. I tried out milk yesterday because I was hungry one week post op. It didn’t go well. I experienced dumping syndrome and while it did only last 30-45 minutes, it scared me. So I know I need more time before trying that again. -
You’ve got quite an arsenal there @AJ Tylo. I hope to become a guru like you!

To all sleeves what items did you get for post op
CammyC replied to Socee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was drinking ensure max protein pre-op and it’s still good, but I prefer to make my own drinks now with water and premier protein chocolate. Sugar free jello and I am surviving on sugar free popsicles. I’m one week Post op today! Also Bone Broth as it has protein. I got this broth at Kroger and it is sooo good! It smells good and tastes much heartier than a regular bone broth, but still has that delicate broth consistency for our recovering tummies. I can’t stomach any other bone broth bc to me it smells like dead meat. Yuck! And this has 10 grams of protein. It’s about 4 bucks more but is great! -
Day 3 post op and can drink liquids so well it scares me
CammyC replied to CammyC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@mooki I am giving up the app! I’m online now and it gives me notifications and such lol! I felt good when I woke up this morning. I tried milk yesterday 1% and it did not go well so I’m kinda anxious to try other full liquids. I bet purée phase is exciting! -
FEEL SO MUCH BETTER NO LONGER DEHYDRATED
CammyC replied to BecomingAnna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m one week post op today and so tired of drinking. I can’t wait to chew on something again. I have my one week follow up tmrw morning With my surgeon and hoping he will put me on full liquids. I was actually hungry yesterday and tried some 1% milk with my protein powder instead of water and I got nauseated, fast heart rate, hot flashes and sweaty. It really scared me but I jumped in here and discovered I was having dumping syndrome symptoms. I loved milk prior to the sleeve and we’re not really supposed to have dumping syndrome like the bypass peeps, allegedly from what I’ve read on the net. So that kinda sucks. -

Hello all, they are actually called Charco Caps not tabs. I hope you get some relief! -
To all sleeves what items did you get for post op
CammyC replied to Socee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The one thing that saved me from the unbearable gas pain is Charco Caps at Wal-Mart. The Gas-X did nothing as it for the gas in your colon. I used Charco Caps which are capsules of activated charcoal. I can not recommend these enough. I’ve had other major surgeries and never felt anything like that gas pain. Good luck! -
TBH, I know exactly where you are coming from. I too drank a lot before surgery. My poison was vodka—a lot of vodka. I drank vodka the night before my surgery...not much granted. I was scared but it was a clear liquid.... I’m day 6 post op and have zero craving for alcohol and so happy I don’t! I am loving not wanting alcohol! I hope your doing well on your journey. My dr did not test me for anything but pregnancy.

Day 4, things seem so easy, now I'm worried
CammyC replied to Katheryn0303's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I March 3rd and by day 3 post op I felt so much better and was easily drinking water, protein and broth and posted the same kind of thing in here. I started googling is my pouch too big? Did the surgery not work? Lol! My friend provided me this advice: remain calm and have confidence that the surgery was successful. I’m day 6 now and I feel good too. I overdid it on day 4 way to much walking and up doing chores around the house so yes, my body had asked me to slow it down again and rest. So happy to hear you all are recovering well too! -
Gastric Sleeve 5days Post OP
CammyC replied to Roslyn Taylor's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my sleeve on 3/3 and the gas pain I experienced was the worst pain I’ve ever had and I had breast done and that was nothing compared. I screamed and cried that first full day. My friend sent me and I watched a YouTube video and this lady suggested activated charcoal tablets — well her mom who is a nurse recommended them. I got them at Wal-Mart. They are called charco tabs and they were a life saver!!! It helped so much that gas pain was still there days 2-3 but I could tolerate it. and much better by day 4. I’m day 6 now and have been walking which yes keep walking! But I don’t have gas pain anymore. I hope you feel better soon! Get a loved one to go get you some charco tabs. -

March 2020 Post-op Thread
CammyC replied to biginjapan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@krimsonbutterflies I hope you’re feeling better and I love the thought of naming my new tummy lolol! She is quite a talker! I’m day 6 now and was very tired today and I was really hungry today but of course I had a protein shake and kept it moving or laying actually. I’m up moving around as much as possible but today was def a down day. @patsfandiane I hope you’re healing well too! @Less2Kerri great job on the walking! @Tamarita I hope you feel better soon too @skyewolfe I actually felt hungry for the first time today like really hungry. I can’t wait to chew on something again @kristyle I have that pain about 4 inches to right of my belly button but for me it’s an incision I’m pretty sure cause it’s right near it. My incisions have been super itchy today so I think that means they are healing! @biginjapan I wish I knew how to respond to people individually like you. I still can’t figure out quite how to use this forum but getting there. Hope you’re feeling well!
