I understand that you may think things were working against you. My original surgery was scheduled for 1/14. It got delayed for almost two months. At one point I thought too it wasn’t meant to be. At the very end tho it went super fast. I found out I was approved for my surgery on 3/2 the day before I was scheduled to have it 3/3 and I did my all liquid diet in hopes I would have it. it was that close. So I get it. here I am on the other side and so happy my life and my body are transforming! Good luck and don’t give up on this experience! ❤️

Going back to work tomorrow and I’m scared
CammyC replied to CammyC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes!! Some people said I looked so thin. Lol! I was like I’ll take it. I wanted to say but I have so far to go! I’m trying to learn to take a compliment. ❤️ -
I’m enjoying the honeymoon phase where I’m not hungry. 4 weeks post op and I love it!!! I’ll eat as less as I can as long as I can, that’s fine with me honey. Protein shakes it is!

@TashafromCT Hi Tasha! Welcome to the forum! I had VSG on 3/3/20 so I’m 4 weeks out today. You’re only 11 or 12 days out. Girl, I feel you! For the first couple of weeks I was like what the hell have I gotten myself into. But it gets better. By the end of the 3rd week I got my energy back finally. Now I’m not eating much more than you but I feel pretty dang good. The only things not making me sick right now are eggs, cottage cheese and Refried beans. The source of most of my nutrition is still protein shakes and I’m still eating SF popsicles. I can graduate to more foods this week but I feel as if I’m not ready and my new tummy may need another week or two. You will learn as you go along your body will let you know when you’re ready to progress...of course always follow your surgeon’s advice. My start weight on 10/7/19 was 256.6 on date of surgery 3/3 I weighed 230. Today I’m 214! it’s so exciting!! Keep reaching out. there are so many wonderful people on this forum who want to share their experience. why are you feeling you made a mistake?? You just feel like crap?? It gets better. ❤️

New Tentative Surgery Date
CammyC replied to PuddinJasper's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@PuddinJasper that will be here for before we know it! March is already gone. Congratulations and best wishes and hopes that it works out for on this date!!! Then you can join the rest of us who didn’t know what the hell we got ourselves into for the first couple of weeks lol! It’s so worth it tho. It’s so worth it! Good luck honey and keep us posted! ❤️ -
I almost don’t want to comment on this for fear I’ll eff it up or unleash the beast. I’m no longer feeling hunger. I’m 4 weeks post op today. I have to force myself to eat. When I do feel that tiny bit of hunger creeping on I drink with of my protein shakes and stave it off for another few hours. @Krimsonbutterflies what are you doing up at 3 am sister?? Insomnia is a real thing tho. So I get it! I take Trazodone which is something my psychiatrist prescribed me when I told her I wasn’t sleeping well. I haven’t had an issue since and it’s not interfering with any of my other medications and helps me sleep.

Going back to work tomorrow and I’m scared
CammyC replied to CammyC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You guys!!!! After getting home from my first day at work in month...to come home and open my safari for the first time today....I feel so blessed to have so many people I don’t know Physically that care about me. So I found out today that my bldg that usually holds 300 people is going down to 15 people. Everyone else is going to work from home. Guess who isn’t one of those 275 people—me. But okay, we (my group) are considered the last line of defense. We’re double checking the i’s were dotted and the t’s were crossed as it were. As we are the ones who send out the actual checks and get packages ready and reviewed for UPS and FedEx. I work in auto and home loans. I picked the wrong time in my career to go for a promotion 8 months ago lol! But I feel better knowing it’ll just be 15 of us there in that bldg and not 300, less exposure. Tonight when I got home, I stripped buck nekkid lol in the garage and ran into the shower. It’s just Mama and I on the ground floor. I washed up went and put my clean jammies on and headed back out with gloves and a garbage bag to collect my clothes. I Lysol’d everything in my car and my purse and my shoes. I threw my clothes in the washer and I was done. This will be my routine for the next indefinite time frame. I feel so much gratitude for the health care personnel. They don’t get to do what I just mentioned. They’re treating those with the virus while their families pray for their safety. For all of you essential workers, thank you for going to work today and for all you health care workers...I mean, HEROES- THANK YOU! ❤️❤️❤️ -
Going back to work tomorrow and I’m scared
CammyC replied to CammyC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mama and I live in the basement which basically a finished in-law suite that is fully functioning home of its own. The rest of my family lives on the next level so there is now where for me or them to isolate. I don’t know what we will do if I or anyone else in our family catches this devil virus. But I appreciate you asking. Just praying for health and safety now.... -
@AliciaBoyles The man you have described is textbook abusive, narcissistic a*****e!! What you have described is abuse. It may not be physical but this emotional, mental abuse is real. Has it become physical yet? All counties have a support system for women like you that can help you get to a safe place. I know it’s easier said than done to get out of a 5 year relationship, but you deserve better than this!! This kind of abuse will only lead to more trauma for you. And as you stated this is your body!! I think you know deep down what needs to be done. I wish you the best of luck in navigating this situation. You don’t need a man bringing you down when you’re obviously on a great journey to become the best you can be! Go back to the questions posed by @Krimsonbutterflies and answer them honestly. You already have the answers. ❤️

Newbie Saying Hello...and asking questions :-)
CammyC replied to Kimberly 20's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Kimberly 20 Hi Kimberly and welcome to the forum! I’m still a newbie too. I was sleeved on 3/3/20. I went onto Amazon and got myself an$25 activity tracker and that’s been helping me get my steps in. I’ve hit 10k steps for several days so that’s exciting for me! As far as exercise I’m gonna check out what @GreenTealael has posted up here. I’ve recently started stretching and incorporating baby weights to help me. Good luck on your journey!! ❤️ -
RE Trapped Gas - Just FYI
CammyC replied to IAmGrace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Krimsonbutterflies that’s so crazy how long it stays trapped inside! I’ve been experiencing a pain in my right side behind my incision I thought maybe it’s because I’ve started stretching and using weights to start toning up and maybe pulled it?? But now I wonder if it’s trapped gas. Hmmm. Either way, I too let her rip when needed. Lol! I try not to do it around my mom, brother and sissy-in-law but niece and nephew (6 and 4) think it’s hilarious 😂. I’m ole Tooty McTooterson around them. Hahahahaha. -
I hope you find the peace you are searching to find with the drugs.

What do you eat after 6 weeks post op!
CammyC replied to Mortiz8892's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you @NovaLuna and @lisafrommassachusetts for taking the time to let us know what your daily food intake is like. That’s so helpful for those of us weeks behind you. I’m 4 weeks post op and have similar questions about the menu I’ll be looking forward to. Thank you for providing your experience and what is working for you. ❤️ -

CammyC replied to JRT Mom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions

Water texture issue after sleeve
CammyC replied to Starwarsandcupcakes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have found for me that Powerade zero goes down like silk. Water, broth and gatorade zero all have a different texture it seems now after surgery. I didn’t understand this post at first until I drank the Powerade zero and it’s so much easier to drink. Hope it’s all working out for y’all. -
When do you get to drink instead of sip?
CammyC replied to Ling82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on 3/3/20. I can now drink my water but I still sip my protein shakes. I can do about 2 or 3 swallows at a time of water. Your body will let you know when you can handle more than just a sip. It’s definitely a case or trial and error as we go. I’ve tried drinking my protein shakes instead of sipping and my tummy is not ready for that. I started hiccuping or burping it into the toilet. 🤮😂❤️ -
Wondering WHY I did it!
CammyC replied to IAmGrace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You’re very welcome, Grace! I was so discouraged at first when people were saying that had lost like 16 pounds in a week. I was like what the heck!! But I saw in their profiles they started out with much more weight to lose, so I did like Taylor sang and calmed down. Lol 😂 -
Soooo funny!!!!

Wondering WHY I did it!
CammyC replied to IAmGrace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@IAmGrace I’m not an expert at this but from what I’ve gathered is that people who weighed more prior to surgery lose more at first. Now I don’t know for sure but. My start weight on 10/7/19 was 256.6. Surgery date of 3/3/20 I was 230. Today I 215.8. I’ve noticed people 300+ seem to have more weight loss at first. I’m not sure what your weight was / is, but it’s working! I’m down 15 pounds in 4 weeks! It took me 5 months to lose 26. I don’t lose weight every day, it’s more like every 3 to 4 days a drop a pound. But I’ll take it! Also I got into a pair of pants yestersay I haven’t been able to wear since 2017. Whoop whoop!! We Just keep doing the right thing and it will pay off for all of us! -
How often do you weigh?
CammyC replied to JRT Mom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@JRT Mom I’m almost 4 weeks post-op gastric sleeve. I used to weigh every day until about a week and half ago. I realized around week 2 that I don’t lose weight every day. I lose a pound or two (usually just one) every 3-4 days. So for my sanity, I now weigh about every 4 days.
