I was diagnosed as diabetic August of 2019 and I knew from that moment on that I had to make a change to my health. I started the process of getting approved for the surgery because no other weight loss journey was working. I was about 270lbs when I was diagnosed and I knew that I wanted to lose the weight for longevity and for my son's future. 
 
Months later, and I was finally given the surgery date as February 20th, 2020, just 4 days short of my son's 10th birthday. And although I'm in massive amounts of pain and a bit miserable this is all just a reminder that I'm doing this for him.
