Hello all: I'm 8 months out from Gastric Sleeve surgery. I have felt fine most of the time. Recently, (the past few weeks) I have felt like my stomach is protruding. I feel more comfortable if I wear something binding around my stomach area. Anyone else have this going on?

But do you know how many have had issues?

I learned about these complications from a noted surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital noted as the World's Best Hospital in the New England Journal of Medicine. I was told that all hospitals are "cutting back on the bypass" as much as they can because of these types of complications which are not SO rare. I never would post anything like this if I weren't certain I could trust the source

Dear heaven: Your body shut down and you couldn't go to the bathroom for over a year?? ..... and you are considering surgery again? I had a sleeve done on February 26 and have only lost 22 lbs with strict dieting. I asked my surgeon if she would do a full bypass for me. Her answer was an emphatic NO. She told me that they are doing fewer and fewer full bypasses because of too many complications. She had two patients who are receiving nutrition from a feeding tube. Imagine, they ate compulsively and gained a ton of weight and now cannot eat at all. It seems to me that your body shutting down for over a year would be impetus enough to never have elective surgery again. Just sayin' -Grace

I wish people would take the time to spell out a word or two rather than NUT and GB, - like that. There are a lot of us new to the website who aren't familiar with all the abbreviations.

I would love to hear from anyone who has tried Ozempic to help weight loss. I had a sleeve done in early March and have only lost 20 pounds. I had an appointment with the physician at the Weight Center where I had my surgery and she suggested Ozempic to augment my surgery. Has anyone had any experience with this? Best to all, Grace

Could you tell me please what brand of shakes you use. I'd like to know because if they already taste like milk you're one up on me.

Hi Folks: I had my gastric sleeve on February 26 and have been losing at a snail's pace. I think one of my problems is not enough exercise. I'm not complaining, just stating the facts. I'm in the habit of having protein shake for breakfast for 160 calories. My favorite flavor is Vanilla. The got very boring and was really just like drinking milky water....so I put my thinking cap on and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Instead of using all water, I used mostly water but 4 tablespoons of half-and-half. I added 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. I substitute some of the water with ice cubes, put in all in the blender and whip the heck out of it. It takes a lot to get me excited about anything having to do with dieting, but I really wanted to share this. It's changed my breakfast from Ho-Hum to Yum-Yum! It adds 80 calories to your daily intake, but SO worth it! Best to all, Grace

Hello all: I underwent a gastric sleeve on February 26, 2020. I was told that this type of surgery can cause hair loss. .... but we hear what we want to hear. I'm losing my hair at an alarming rate. Anyone else experiencing this? In addition to that problem, my weight loss is at a crawl. Since February 26 I've lost only 16 pounds.... so now I won't just be fat, - I'll be fat and bald. Any input would be much appreciated. Best, Grace -

My goodness, I would be absolutely thrilled with a 40 pound loss in that timeframe. My loss, in comparison is 18 pounds in the same timeframe and I am taking in 700-800 calories daily. -

Great big CONGRATULATIONS to you -
If you continue to SNIPE at me, I won't respond.

RJAN: You obviously love drama. I didn't snipe as you put it. If you want to discuss this further, please message me in private. I'm sure these people don't want to hear this nonsense. Grace
