I can easily lose 15 lbs on my own in a month and a half. I'm sure I have lost this on my own. I never said I was unwilling to talk with a therapist although I do think it would be spitting in the wind. From what I see here the RNY is far more effective than the sleeve. I do wish I had input about that before I went under the knife.
-
I only wish I knew the success rate with RNY as compared with the sleeve. However, given the choice I would NEVER put my body through anything like this again.

No Lily, I'm 5' 2".

@MsMocie: I don't know where you got the idea that I expected pounds to slide of by magic. I never felt that way. I know that the surgery is just a tool to assist. My tool DOES NOT WORK. I never feel full. I eat only 600-700 calories per day. I exercise. What more can I do?

Did you have a sleeve or a bypass? -
Thank you! I definitely will call them. I'm so discouraged today I want to scream! Did they give you meds?

February 2020 Post-Op Thread
IAmGrace replied to ResaRoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello there: What is a minimizer ring? I don't think you should presume that 100-200 calories per day will be a new normal for you. Sounds like this needs looking into and I'm glad you're having a scope done. Is you 58 pound weight loss a combined before and after surgery or only after surgery? I wish you well. Best, Grace -
So nice to hear from a fellow Dr. Gee patient. I liked her, but I really think my operation was a bust! I was done (a sleeve) on February 26 and am only down 13 pounds. I think I could eat almost any reasonable amount. I don't feel full. Very disappointed! I'm happy for you, though. Did you have a bypass or sleeve? Grace

Can I have A small onion pickle

I am 7 WEEKS out and I eat Bread and Butter Pickles all the time. I can eat just about anything. It has me wondering if they did anything at all to me, but I sure as hell suffered. -

OMG you said four MONTHS. You should be able to eat anything unless I'm full of inaccurate information. I am 7 weeks out and I can eat anything I want but in small quantities. -

At 4 weeks you should be able to tolerate that well. -

Today was the absolute worst day ever

I'm SO SORRY you are going through this. It must be terrifying! Please let us know what your doctor/s say and how you are progressing after this awful experience. Grace -
Hello all: I underwent gastric sleeve surgery on February 26, 2020 so I'm just about 4.5 weeks out. I'm following diet rules to the letter and ingesting at least 60 ounces of fluid daily. I have lost 13 pounds in the 4.5 weeks. I read about others who have lost 24 or so in the same time period. I don't know what earthly good going through holy hell with the surgery did. I asked my surgeon if she was successful in removing most of my stomach and she said she was certain that she did. I average about 600 - 700 calories daily. The only positive thing I can think of about the surgery is that I cannot eat TOO much. I did that once and I suffered. Still wondering why. It was terribly painful, and I had a lot of nausea. Don't know if it was worth it.

I just created a lovely dessert that I want to share with you all. Actually, it's so basic you probably have done this yourself. Blend a frozen banana, one cup of frozen mixed berries, one packet of sugarless vanilla pudding mix one cup of skim milk and two packets of artificial sweetener. I used Splenda. ....just blend it all for 2 minutes. It makes a really nice pudding! Enjoy! Grace

That purple corn thing looks like a swamp creature....ewwwww -
I'm 6 weeks post-op with a gastric sleeve. I see people mentioning frozen bananas on here. I froze some today but I don't know how you all use them. In a shake done with a blender? Thanks Grace

I must admit that staying away from carbonated beverages and caffeine has been one of the most difficult things for me (6 weeks out from a sleeve). I just couldn't stand it so I was drinking diet coke which I flattened by adding a bit of water to it. Then I went to straight Diet Coke (bubbles and all). NO problem at all.

So glad to know this. Many thanks.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Thank you for your suggestion. However, the fact is that I eat VERY slowly. Stopping after each bite, chewing incessantly. Other people are done FAR faster than me. It was a habit I learned from Weight Watchers many, many years ago and it has become my way of eating. -
You are losing much faster than me. EVERYONE is losing faster than me. My sleeve was done on February 26 and I've lost a whopping 14 pounds.
