June Sleevers Post Op
It's time. replied to srgrl08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for asking. I'm 5 days out and haven't had a BM even though I'm taking Colace every day. I Sent an email to my doctor this morning. I also had lost 8 pounds before surgery, then gained 5 while in the hospital which isn't coming off. I'm assuming it's basic fluid but I want it gone. I'm older than most of you so things might be slower for me. I'm drinking not quite 3 shakes a day and about 18 oz of water. Not much else. 3 short walks a day. Today , I'm cutting my pain med in 1/2 , adding Tylenol, will lengthen my walks and try some veggies broth. I think I'm doing as expected. -
Did you keep surgery a secret? What did you tell people?
It's time. replied to FinallyLosingIt20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only told a few people before surgery because I wasn't sure if the others would be supportive so I waited to tell them AFTER surgery when their objections no longer matter. -
Excellent!

I'm 4 days post-op sleeve and feel nauseous a lot. I'm guessing it's the pain meds so might switch to just Tylenol. Plus I haven't pooped yet. Any suggestions?

How do you feel?

shakes, any kind of water, broth, skim milk, sugar free popsicles all go toward your 64 o fluid.

Thanks for sharing. Good to know we need to sleep on our backs. I wonder for how long.

How much did you lose on your pre-op diet?
It's time. replied to TheAngryMeow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
7lbs in 10 days, 3 more days to go. I did have a piece of toast with a tiny bit of peanut butter on two different days. -
I get mine tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. I just hope it's quick.

Pre-Op Diet, Are you hanging in there?
It's time. replied to futurefinemama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It seems everyone has a different pre-op diet. I started mine 6 days ago. I'm fine most of the day but I'm starving when I wake up so I might add a yogurt in the evening, but I've lost 4 lbs. -
Happy doctor dropped 3 meds postop
It's time. replied to over65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, that's incredible. I guessed they would drop or reduce blood pressure meds in a few months as the weight comes off, not at discharge. -
No pain meds at home?

Did they send you home with pain medication?

Bypass - How Far Will I Be Able to Walk?

Order a wheelchair just in case. At some airports, the gates are pretty far. -
The transformation of me! You can do this too :)

Great job! -
I am so discouraged. I spent a year going to the gym to gain strength and fitness, jump through all the hoops for months for surgery, get a surgery date and boom... the pandemic arrives. Now, I've gained weight, lost all my progress at the gym and now Michigan is on lockdown until mid June. I really wonder if this will ever happen for me. I read posts where people have their first appointment, then get surgery a month later. I'm feeling sorry for myself and at the same time want to slap myself across my face and say, it could be a lot worse you selfish b***h, people are dying from this virus. I just need a little encouragement.

RENPHO SCALE RESULTS - can someone help me interpret the results
It's time. replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, that is really cool. Is it had to work? I'm just starting my journey and something like that might be helpful. -
How long do you have to be on the pre-op diet? It really seems everyone has something different. I am having a last big meal. My birthday is june 13 and I won't be able to eat so my family is coming over, we will order in and I'll have one piece of cake. A combo celebration of birthday/finally getting surgery and managing the pandemic as best we could.

I'm scheduled for June 11 and suppose to start my two week pre-op diet today, but they just called me today and I'm not prepared with the protein drinks. I'll be out shopping tomorrow morning to stock up. My original date was in April. They said someone would call me about pre-op testing. I'm actually glad it's a last minute thing so I won't have time to worry.

They just called me with a new surgery date... June 11 and I start the pre-op diet on Fri. I need to go buy all those protein drinks I need. I'm so happy that I won't have time to worry about the surgeries. I wish I hadn't been such a slug these past 8 weeks, but I have two weeks to exercise.

My surgery was scheduled for April 15 but was postponed without a new date. Has anyone gotten a new date yet?
-
It seems like the process is long before you even get a surgery date. How long did people have to wait?

How and when to resume bariatric surgery in the COVID-19 era.

I'm so jealous that you guys are getting new dates. I was scheduled for April 15. Michigan is still on lockdown. -
New Tentative Surgery Date
It's time. replied to PuddinJasper's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are so lucky to get a date. I sit here in limbo. No elective surgeries being scheduled yet in Michigan. -
Complications back in the US
It's time. replied to MVK's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My concern would not be about insurance but what would happen if there are complications during the surgery or just after and you're still in Mexico?
