February Surgery ?

Hi all, I am 5 days out. Yesterday was the first day I felt more like myself. I am able to tolerate water better, soup broth is my new best friend. I stopped the nausea and pain medicine 3 days ago. I can drink the optifast protein drink but it cleans me out. So I can't take any with me when I go out because I cannot afford to deal with bathroom issues. I have two other brands here that I will try to see which one won't send me running, I will have to get used to experimenting with this new way of being. I have a question on pureed foods which I hope to start by the end of the week. I did see some online, are there any pre-made that are recommended or is it better to just prepare your own? How do you make sure you get the right nutrients in? Any good place for puree recipes? I'll be at full work mode by then and quick and easy is essential. Thanks!! -
I am sipping and dealing with the pain. We ran out of oil and got a quick delivery so I can shower now and I’m hoping that revitalizes me a bit. I decided to weigh myself thinking I’d be carrying liquid weight but I’m 198. Onederland was a big goal so that’s also helping me mentally cuz I’ve had a few “what did I do??? Moments. Not being able to take water is tripping me up. I still enjoy the taste but it feels crazy going down. No nausea so I’m glad about that. I also have a 3 and 7 year old who I have to remind not to run into me or play next to me. My stomach used to be their padding and comfort so they don’t get what I did but soon we will have full hugs. Sorry if it sounds random but sharing incase it helps others.

Thanks everyone! I am really thankful for all of the well wishes. So it was tougher than expected. I heard of people who went to the gym the next day. I've spent the last two days sleeping or walking. I am home now, I only spent one night at the hospital and made it home by 2pm today. I picked up a ton of meds and am sipping water every chance I get and taking little walks around the house. The dr also had to correct a hiatial hernia so I'm super sore. I was 5 pounds heavier weighing in at the hospital because of the liquids.

I had been doing keto and IF and that felt so much easier. It's hard because I have young children and a husband with a super fast metabolism so I'm the only one carrying extra weight in the house. They can eat whatever, whenever and I'm in the corner with my jello, lol. Thank you for the encouragement and best wishes for the 19th! -

Hi everyone! I'm a new member and my gastric sleeve surgery is scheduled for 2/18. I'm excited and terrified all at once! There is the physical aspect but this whole experience has been a real mind shift. I was just telling my husband that I am aware of how much of a complainer I am being. The liquid diet has been tough on me. I started keto/IF on 12/28 and was losing weight before it. Now this feels like torture but I know it's preparing me for what is to come, in two days, I will be in a whole other phase...looking forward to learning and experiencing this with you all.
