I WAS BANDED ON 03/03/08. MY SURGEON WAS DR. KURIAN. I INITIALLY WANTED DR. REN BUT SHE DIDN'T ACCEPT MY INSURANCE (HIP-MEDICAID) AND DR. KURIAN DID. BUT AFTER MEETING HER DR. KURAIN, I WAS AND AM GLAD TO HAVE HER. SHE IS SO MUCH MORE THEN A SURGEON... SHE BECOMES UR FRIEND:smile2:. MY PROGRESS HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL. I HAVE LOST A TOTAL OF 60 LBS. AND I COULDN'T BE ANY HAPPIER. SO IF UR THINKING ABOUT GETTING BANDED AND NOT SURE WAT SURGEON TO HAVE. FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I RECOMMEND DR. KURIAN AS UR SURGOEN.. TRUST ME U WILL NEVER REGRET IT!.:Dancing_sorry: NOTE: THE OTHER SURGEONS THAT WORK IN NYU ARE ALSO GREAT. I HAVE GOTTEN GREAT FEED BACK FROM PATIENT I MEET WHEN I GO 4 MY FOLLOW UP AND ALSO HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO TALK TO THEM BUT I JUST TALK MORE ABOUT KURIAN CUZ THATS WHO I HAVE MY TREATMENT WITH. AND I AM HAPPY WITH HER.

Yeah i noe i shouldnt react that way... Is that i was really schocked... I only weight myself when i go to see the doctor... So i went very confident that i had lost alot cuz i felt so light... So to find out only 2 pounds... I though the scale was wrong..lol but talking to the docotr made me feel better.. She noe how to boost u up when u need it. I noe i cant go on just liquid and soft food... But i;m going to try to do the slimfast diet.. Which is taking 2 or 3 shakes a day and one smalll meal. (i'm going to try it.. Cuz i'm not big on drinking shakes) but thank 4 ur support

TALK ABOUT GETTING DISSAPOINETED:frown:. I HAD THE ONLY FACE WHEN THE DOCTOR CAME IN.. SHE SAID IT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT I STARTED GOING TO THE GYM AND I PROBABLY BUILD MUSLES. HOW I WAS @ 7.6CC SHE JUST GAVE ME .3 MORE PUTTING ME IN 7.9CC! BUT I FEEL SO BAD THAT I JUST WANT TO GO ON PURED LIQUID & SOFT FOOD TILL MY NEXT WEIGHT IN... I FEEL SO UPSET AT MYSELF... BUT WATEVER.. THATS LIFE.. Hey how exiting 4 ur surgery... let me tell u that The Surgery itself is Fast.. Hardly any pain when out of surgery.. just mild ones and Recovery Is Fast ( I was at work a week later) This is the Best thing ur gonna do... trust me!!! Best of Luck!!!!

I got My Lapband done on March 03, 2008. I was weighting 255 lbs b4 the surgery and this past wenesday May 28, 2008 i went for my weight in and for my 4th fill and to my suprise I am now weight 232 Lbs. I am very happy with the results. Its been hard to adjust to this new metho; meaning i haved chocked a few times and have seen myself forced to vomit. but i have learned to adjust and avoid certain foods (the hard way..jaja:lol:) I never though i was gonna be able to ever lose weight cuz i was in the yo-yo metho and i was so sick of it. so having the lapband was the best thing i have ever done. and i recomend this surgery 100%. I love my surgen she is the sweetest thing and my well being is at her best interest. her name is Dr. Kurian and she is at the NYU Hospital in NY. I hope this blog is able to help others when in comes into making the big life changing decision. In My personal opinion if other methos have failed.. The Lap_Band is the best weight loss surgery. The recovery is Quick (I was back at work the week after surgery) ,The Band Adjustment dont hurt AT ALL!!!! & Weight Loss is Gurantee if u put alot or lil effort. God Bless....
