Hi penny, I went with the standard package they offer, which includes Hotel..taxi to & from the hospital/airports etc the costs for that including the operation was 4040 euro's the only thing I had to book was the flights.... Some people choose to book the hotels/taxi etc themselves but I found with the package it took all the hassle out of it, and in my experiance everything went smoothly from the moment I arrived... so I could relax & just concentrate on the Op. I stayed for 3 nights in total and flew back home with no complications... Im not sure of any support groups in your area has im a londoner........But rest assured you'll get loads of support on here...:tt1::smile2: All the best Cw. -

Hi fellow bandsters, im back and can report im a fully fledged bandstaar wohoo..... everything went very well indeed exactly has most of you guys of said already, there was really no need to worry..To all you guys going out there real soon for your ops you will find a truelly proffesional service... Dr Chris is great and very reassuring also fredrich is a nice guy also, he joined me for a drink the night before op lol.. The campanile hotel is very basic but is really comfortable I found the food was quite nice also, for my last meal I had cheeseburger and chips (has someone mentioned on here) and it was really nice...The mrs had chicken breast with chips and some sauce she enjoyed that aswell...we went to the lidl up the road for some water and juice which aint to far... I found that the hospital was really clean they were forever cleaning above doors under doors mopping wiping etc.... the nhs could learn loads from them lol... Has for me im bearing up pretty well infact more better than i thought i would after the op in recovery I didnt feel much pain at all yea there was a bit of discomfort but nothing major no sore throat etc.. the next day I was feeling really sore like my stomach was not mine fredrich said this was the port area so would be like that for a while but has each day passes will get better and I must admit it has...im just taking things slowly im 3 days post op and I aint had any pain killers today only some remegel and that injection this morning been drinking lots of water or so it feels like sip sip its taken ages to finish a small bottle lol I do feel it going down but I was told this is normal.. Just want to thank you guys for your support thus far im sure im gonna need more shortly has time goes on. Cheers. Cant-weight -

Thankyou all so much for your kind words & support, I guess my family are just scared of the unknown and I need to spend a little time telling them more about the procedure,,, Its amazing how the news spread about like wild fire :smile2: I started getting calls from distant fam I aint spoke to in ages... I have spoken to my gran again and she did actually think I was having bypass surgery ( bless her ) she still doesnt like the idea of me going abroad but ive assured her I would be in good hands.....& try not to worry to much... My uncle told me I should just diet and excercise and not to do the surgery; he said we are a big boned family lol They dont see how low the weight really makes me feel inside, because im always smiling and joking around... they dont realise sometimes I dont even wanna look in the mirror because of my size my confidence is at a all time low..... was just thinking the other day it would be nice to go swimming or walk down the beach without a top on like most blokes... the last time I did that was about 16years ago...lol cant-weight. -

Yes its fast approaching lol im feeling excited/nervous/anxious all at the same time if im making any sense lol.. It's so soothing & reassuring to read you guys experiances,, I must admit it makes me feel more at ease about the Op etc..... I made the mistake of telling me Grandmother about the Op and she's told quite a few other family members who have inundated me with calls not to do it etc.... But I remain focused on this journey and look forward to the new me & really just getting my confidence back.. Cant-weight
