I was scheduled for April 13, then changed to May 11 ,then changed to May 15, then cancelled again. Now scheduled for May 29. I think it will happen since I had my anesthesia appointment and blood drawn. Am a little nervous and really looking forward to my covid test (NOT)!!!

Well, my surgery balloon just burst. I am rescheduled for May 11. I was not surprised it was rescheduled, but still disappointed. Now if my new date does not get postponed!!

I am 71 and having surgery April 13. Really excited to feel better and enjoy the rest of my life. My surgeon has assured me I am not too old.

Elsee, thank you so much for sharing your experiences with the lapband. I was planning on the lap band but have changed my mind this past week for the sleeve. Your post confirms my decision. I am 71 and hope the surgery will give me at least 20 more years of life. I am looking forward to no more type 2 diabetes.

I have been doing a lot of reading about the gastric sleeve and am considering this instead of the lap band. I would love to hear from others who had the lap band or gastric sleeve and advantages/disadvantages of either one. I am not young, 71, and this is a factor, also.

I plan to have the lap band surgery. It does not seem to be as popular as the gastric sleeve or bypass surgeries but it seems the least invasive to me. Also, I am a late starter since I am 71. I am a food addict and eat often when I am not hungry. I know this surgery will be a tool and I will be making serious changes in my food. I have heart disease and type 2 diabetes. My goal is to correct the diabetes and lessen the work my heart has to do. I have done all steps except the psych evaluation and that is next week. I hope to have my surgery in early April. I do have a reputable surgeon that will do my surgery. I am confident he will help me through this process.
