Getting the protein in via food is so difficult especially in the pureed stage, can't wait for solids -

That's awesome! I can't wait to eat some real chicken. Have you tried anything else now that you're cleared? -

God I would kill for a good filet, but I'm so worried I won't be able to stomach it anymore based on other posts, this gives me hope! -

I've had ground turkey already but that was cooked down in tomato sauce, maybe meatball form is to dry. Thanks! -

I have a renpho scale, once you buy that, the app is completely free. It tracks your weight, BMI, and a whole slew of other things like bone mass, muscle etc. And it shows you your trends from each weigh in, not just weight, but all the other things it measures. Not sure how accurate that part is, but I love the scale and the app. -

Yeah, I have some canned chicken I plan on trying soon, I want to mix it with some buffalo sauce. Curious to see how I handle spice -

I'm not sure if I'm cleared for chicken yet, at least not pureed forms. My surgeon wants me on pureed/really soft foods for 4 weeks. I need to call him though and find out if he means soft foods, or if to him soft foods is yet an additional stage. Doing my best to stick to his guidelines, but its great to hear you're able to stomach it! I desperately want some buffalo chicken! I miss spicy -

I branched out today and tried some new foods for breakfast. I was bored of eggs, so I opened a 2oz can of tuna, added about half an ounce of light mayo and then topped it with a half an ounce of mozzarella. Warmed it all up. Took about 40 minutes to eat, but went down smoothly and is sitting comfortably. Happy to have another option. What else is everyone eating that's you're excited about? -

Yeah, it only happened once and was a good reminder to eat slowly, but it sucked and I'm determined to never let that happen again -

Yeah, it makes sense, anytime the body loses weight it takes a toll and needs to recover,, especially with us being so calorie deprived. I weigh myself every Tuesday, curious to see how this week went. -

My doctors diet plan kept me on liquids the first two weeks, so definitely check with what yours advises. -

Thanks, I'm excited to be here and see how I'm doing compared to others. Fortunately water has been my lowest issue, I've always been a big water drinker so I'm happy about that. This morning I ate almost 2 whole eggs, not bad. -

I've lost about 13lbs since surgery, but I'm hoping I just hit my stall early and my body will pick up soon. Sweet potato with protein powder sounds like such a good idea! -

Hello surgery friend! Thanks for the advice, unfortunately i hate most beans which is going to be an issue for me, and I'm afraid to try peanut butter since it's a favorite food of mine, I think I'd have issues with limiting it. Tonight I made some browned ground turkey in a tomato sauce, and it's going down really nicely and is actually really yummy. I do want to try the blended veggie soup and I'm dying for some hummus so I'm hoping that agrees with me. The day after I threw up I went to full liquids also, I had missed my hydration goal two days in a row at that point. Now I'm making water my goal instead of food, I'm seriously nervous about getting dehydrated. -

Hey everyone, I'm brand new to the forum and this is my first reply to a thread. I had VSG surgery January 27th, so I'm almost 3 weeks out. Physically I feel fine, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't missing food a lot! I moved to pureed diet last Monday after 4 weeks all liquid and that first egg I ate was the best thing ever. Today I tried an egg with a runny yolk and thankfully it went down smoothly. I did throw up for the first time last week when I ate a small piece of salmon, I think I ate it too fast, so I've definitely been a bit gun shy. Sounds like you guys are really brave with your diets, I'm scared to try all these new foods. I also think I've hit my stall early, I only lost 2lbs last week which was really discouraging. But for now I'm focused on getting in my fluids and protein shake (premier protein), and getting food in around that, but between fluids and all the damn supplements I find I'm not hungry all too often. I'm following now, can't wait to see how everyone is doing!
