Dr. Stephen Wohlgemuth - This is my Doctor!!

Dr. Wohlgemuth performed my surgery and he is very nice. I felt very at ease with him from the start. I would recommend him to anyone. Actually the whole sentara group is awesome. Check out Norfolk Surgical Group. -

Wow!! that is great. I am 1 week out and I'm on soft food. I don't feel that hungry. I was told that I'm not hungry because I'm still swollen on the inside. So my fear is when the swelling goes down am I going to be starving, I hope not. I hope it contiues this way. How long before your swelling went down how do you know when you have no more swelling. I don't go back to the Dr. till Nov 4. I'm nervous. I wonder should I just measure and eat, or eat till I'm full. -

I was told at first I was going to get the Realize Band. But before surgery I was told I was getting the lapband. -
I went to my 1st week post op appt today. I asked if any saline was in the band when I was banded? My doc told me that with the type of band I have and it was 1-2cc in it already. So is that a good thing or not. I am on mushies today and I had some chicken in the can and some broccli all to equal up 2oz. I wasn't hungry anymore, I had a protein shake and that was it. Is this good or not?

So is there anything I could take to make my self burp? Or it will get a little better when I start mushies or solids? -
I was just banded Sep 18, 2008. Everything seemed to be fine. I'm still on liquids. I see the Dr. tomorrow for my 1 week appt. I believe that he will release me to soft foods then. As I was on full liquids. There were times where I feel like I want to burp and I can't. I feel it coming up and then I get a pain in my chest where it won't come up. When I asked about it I was told to walk and it will come up, but it doesn't. Has anyone ever had this problem just being banded?

Hi Stephanie forgive me for not getting back to you soon enough. I have not been on this site for awhile. I have been busy with so much work, school, and my girls. Yes I have Dr. Wohlgemuth. He is wonderful. I love him. He makes me feel so comfortable when I go see him. I just had my surgery Sep 18. So I'm in my recovery stage. 4 days post op. Everything went well with my surgery except for having so much gas pain. I hate that. Today wasn't so bad though. I was feeling pretty good. I know you've had your visit with him already. How was it? All of my dates are in my signature. From when I started. I have to update my ticker though so ignore that.

one more ? how long has it taken for all of your evals and what not? I am hoping to get this all done with by oct or nov would be great! anyway thanks again !!

hello I read you have DR W could you tell me about him, I meet with him this friday and really wanted dr Fontana (bc he was the one I met) I read that you had him and wanted to know which surgery you were having and how his personality was-- thanks for ur help
