  3. Hello drstan1,

Well congrats on your loss thus far. I notice that I also still do feel hungry from time to time, but per the Doctor, I'm doing very well. So I wish you success with the next 20lbs. Keep posting your progress, its always encouraging to everyone.

    Anyone from NYC/Westchester?

OK, now I need some assistance as for the life of me I cannot get my weight ticker to show up in my notes as the rest of you are doing. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, can anyone help me?

Since last time I commented, I have finally stopped vomiting. If I eat very, very, very slowly and make sure I have some kind of sauce (liquid) with my food, it seems to go down, but I still think my band is a little too tight and I think I'm going to call for an appointment to remove 1/2 of a cc .

Hi Angelyco, I find it hard to believe that they have you seeing a dietitian everytime you go for a fill, and that you have to pay every time. I've seen my dietitian once, and made some calls which she returns. When I go for a fill, I don't have to see anyone, other than Dr. Artuso and his PA. I also don't pay any additional money until I think after a year of visits. They also have a support group which meets on I think its Wednesdays, around 6pm, not sure of the time. I don't go because I don't drive and its difficult to get there without inconveniencing my husband or daughter. I have a close friend who had her band done by Dr. Fielding and she gives me all the support I need. Additionally, this web site is a wealth of information and you can get just about any question answered here. Their phone # is 914 - 693-0055, you can call and ask their office staff, they are really nice and are always willing to help. They are in Dobbs Ferry hospital.
  7. :confused2: Hey Deb,

Had fill on August 7, its now 10 days later and I still am vomiting dinner after about 4 spoonfuls of whatever. I've switched to purees, but still can't seem to keep it down and its actually painful till I vomit, then a little sore. I'm going to try to stick it out for a few more days, if no better, then I think I have to try to get about 1/2cc unfilled. Do you think this is what I shoud do? Do you think that my continued difficulty could be from all the vomiting I've been experiencing?:Dancing_wub:

  8. Hey Deb, Just found you, been looking all over this huge site for you. How are you doing? Have you been on this site lately? Keep in touch.

My friend debi717 had her lap band done by Dr. Fielding in NYC, but she gets her fills done at White Plains hospital. I got my band done on May 16, 2008 and to date I have lost 36 pounds. I'm having a little trouble since my last fill which was on Aug. 7th which brought me to 6cc, I'm very restricted and having a difficult time eating just about anything. Now eating only purees, but that too causing some difficulty. Thinking about going back and having them remove 1/2 cc. I had my band done at Dobbs Ferry hospital by Dr. Artuso. I like the way the weight is coming off, but I think my band may be a little too tight. I have vomited almost every night during dinner.
  10. I know its hard, but stick with it, eventually the weight will come off. You are still experimenting, so is your Doctor, looking for the right place for you. Keep us posted on your progress.
  11. The sweet spot is where you are able to eat, but feel your restriction and are comfortable with it. You are able to recognize when you've had enough to eat, and because you feel full, you won't over eat.
  12. pjd3253, Generally, the Dr. will tell you when you come again, usually its once a month. I have a Van Guard 12 cc band and I am now at 6 cc's. Feeling very restricted.
  13. Jaylo, keep faith, When I had my 2nd fill, I also was able to eat just about any quantity I wanted, so of course, I gained 4 pounds. I also had my band done May 16, 2008. I went last Thursday 8/7/08 and got my 3rd fill, this time they gave me 2 cc because I was so upset about the weight gain, this brought me to a total of 6cc. Boy am I ever restricted. I have to eat so slow, it seems like I'm eating backwards, doesn't matter what I eat, everything hurts if you don't eat slow. I had a half cup of refried beans mixed with a lot of taco sauce to make it liquidy and melted some cheddar cheese on it with a side 2oz. of sour cream, it took me 1 hour to eat it. I have to wait at least 5 minutes after every 2 spoonfuls. However, I have now lost the 4 poounds I had gained and think that I may well be at the sweet spot. Doly718

    need info on taking medications

You pharmacist is the best person to advise you as to how you can take the capsule. given that, otherwise, I would do as someone else suggested, that would be to disolve the capsule, hold your nose and swallow. good luck.
