* WEEKLY CHECK IN DAY *
J Lynn replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was just a half an hour ago at my six week post-op follow up visit. I’m so excited to finally be under the 200 lb mark. i can’t get the picture to not post upside down -
Hello! My name is Judi. I had my surgery December 9, 2019. I am five weeks out and have lost 23 pounds since my surgery. I have lost a total of 68 pounds since starting this process around this time last year. Back in 2017, I decided to quit smoking after a 35 year relationship with cigarettes. As a result, I gained 70 pounds and developed additional health problems. I knew I had to do something. So I got serious about wanting the surgery and doing what I had to in order to get healthy. So here I am, 68 pounds lighter and still continuing on my journey to a healthier life.

Yes. I can relate. My washing machine scent beads that I love now make me nauseous. It’s horrible. I’ve also had aversions to other smells in the house and I’m way more smell sensitive to many things whereas before I wasn’t. im hoping this is just a phase and will pass with time.

Not me, but congratulations on your surgery. Mine was Dec 9.

You’ll do fine, I’m sure of it! Just remember to push fluids even when you don’t feel like it. Small baby sips are the best. They will help you from becoming dehydrated and feeling nauseous. I had to learn this lesson the hard way. I would say if there are any questions you have, write them down and be sure to ask your doctor. No question is silly.

That’s how I did it. I put them down and stepped away. Two and a half years cigarette free. It was one of the best things I did for myself.

How are my fellow December surgeries doing?

My surgery was 12/9. I’ve lost a total of 23 pounds so far. I have my five week check up on Tuesday. I’ll get an updated weight then. I’m currently sitting at 200 pounds according to my scale at home. Feeling better with each passing day. -
Nausea, dizziness and lightheaded feelings, wanting to sleep all day, not peeing more than twice a day, very dark pee are all signs of being dehydrated. I was re-admitted to the hospital three weeks after surgery due to being dehydrated. Just try and push fluids as best as you can. Try sugar-free ice pops. They work wonders when you don’t feel like drinking a whole lot. I am five weeks post surgery and am just now starting to feel better.
