I had my first appointment with surgeon yesterday. It was a little disappointing when he said I could expect to loss about 70 to 80 lbs. While that is a lot and I would love that weight loss, I was actually hoping to hear more like 100 lbs. Now I realize this is just a guess, and it all depends on my body and how diligent I am regarding activity and diet afterwards. However I was wondering if any one else got a number like this and surpassed the expectation of the doctors first expectations? I am looking at the sleeve I am currently 264 lbs and would like to be closer to 150 lbs. I remember myself at that weight and it was a very healthy weight for me. However this would more like a weight loss of 115 lbs. Just looking for some inspiration that my goal is possible. Thank you.

Hi SupRNurse, I have my first appointment with Dr. JP on the 20th can you share what to expect? I am a nut about being prepared. Did you meet with the Nut doctor and the exercise expert? Did they do blood work? What did you think of Dr. JP? -
Pre op Appointment

My first appointment with the surgeon is 3 hrs. But I meet with the nutritionist and the exercise coach at the same appointment I think they are each 30 - 1hr. Then my first appointment with the psychologist is 3 hours. Sounds like maybe yours is all three visits in one plus labs if they are asking you to fast first. -
Anyone able to talk about their experience at Kennestone Dr. Fritz Jean-Pierre? How long did you need to stay in the hospital? Did you have a shared room?

Good morning! New here just starting the process of getting approved by Cigna on a OA plan in Georgia for the Gastric Sleeve. I have been working with a Nutritionist and exercise coach since November. However I missed an appointment in December because I came down with Pneumonia. My surgeon's office says that CIgna requires 6 months of nutrition and exercise for pre approval. However when I called Cigna they told me once they did require 6 months then the next time I talked to them they said they didn't. They seemed VERY confused on what is and is not required. Is there anyone in GA with Cigna that has been through this process? Do you know if the 6 months is required and if they must be consecutive? Also I would love to chat with anyone on their experiences with Kennestone and Dr Fritz Jean-Pierre. I am hoping for a surgery date in May 2020!
