Y’all, I don’t know what I’m doing that ends up with blurry pictures but jeez. 😂 Also, the amount of toast I’ve had lately has been astonishing. And that last picture with the peanut butter tofu and veggies- delicious even as *gasp* leftovers. -
Sometimes blah periods with foods happen. I get pretty bored of eating the same stuff over and over so unless I look for something new and different then I don’t see a point. Try looking for a random recipe generator or asking people to link you to their new favorite recipes. Tonight for dinner my family had baked bbq chicken and pineapple. I had mine as salad and they had theirs over rice with broccoli.

Burger and fries for dinner. Ate mine with mushrooms, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, stone ground mustard, Mayo, spinach and tomatoes. The seasoned fries were meh so I’m glad I only ate a few. Calories are including a full serving of fries though. And then one of my full days calories. Also breakfast was an Atkins chai protein shake and some buffalo flavored combos. -

The blurry leftover half of my turkey pastrami and cheddar wrap I had for dinner. Would’ve been around 240 calories for the whole thing. But I’m too exhausted to eat any more… and too full of donuts that got dropped off at our unit today. -

More random meals. The chicken salad (from the last picture) also made a repeat into my lunch today. -

How to feed kids and still be healthy
Starwarsandcupcakes replied to Quesodip251's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
We regularly have a “build your own salad” night. I also might keep fruit cups, fruits, and veggies out in plain sight so they’re more accessible than the chips, sugary stuff, or other less nutrient dense foods. Your kids can only follow example and eat what you provide (for the most part), so healthy options, intuitive eating, and food modeling are great ways to keep kids having a healthier relationship with food. -

Being a nurse with crazy hours

Hey! I’m not a nurse but a monitor tech and work 12’s. Your best bet is loads of little things starting out- Greek yogurts, eggs and cheese, string cheese, taco meat, chili, etc. condiment or mini lunch containers are great. Take the time and walk away from the floor! You and your health are just as important as your patient. After all you’ve taken the steps to get to where you are now, don’t let others derail you by being unprepared for success when you come back. Also, water bottle at the hydration station and a phone timer to schedule breaks. -

They weren’t bad. And super simple- nut butter, protein powder, and either non dairy milk or sugar free maple syrup to bind it. The recipe said to dip in chocolate but they’re fine without it. And for the most part doing well. Starting to get cabin fever since it’s been so abnormally warm lately. -

Made homemade protein bars. I’m going to try making some with powdered peanut butter next time and see if I like them. Lunch today- stir fry kimchi and edamame, some tomatoes and onions, tamagoyaki, and teriyaki chicken. -

Very seldom do I eat pasta but after making it for the kids tonight it smelled so good. Started by roasting most of the Roma and Campari tomatoes, some scallions m, and some garlic bulbs. Used the garlic in both the sauce and the cheesy garlic bread. And then cooked the Pasta in the sauce and some chicken broth. -

Went to a Mexican restaurant by myself yesterday. It’s weird having actual days off and trying to fully my day with stuff to do. Anyway, I present to you this monstrosity! 😂 I totally took home leftovers and actually ate some of them for dinner. -
Meal preppers - looking for some advice/suggestions
Starwarsandcupcakes replied to Tufflaw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
“No spoon” days are days where you either don’t have the energy or “spoons” to make food or do daily tasks like shower, fold the laundry, or pretty much anything outside of existing. It’s based on Spoon Theory. “Managing spoons” is very common among those in chronic health condition circles like the lupus, fibromyalgia, POTS, and more. -

I love any French fry that doesn’t involve ketchup…. Or ranch. I’m sure I’d love these! -

Yes, but also YES! Kids have had some form of pizza 2 nights in a row (pizza rolls with salad yesterday and chain restaurant pizza tonight) and tomorrow is also looking like a high chance of pizza related food… I will have salad every night if I have to not think about cooking until after new year’s!
