How Long Do Stalls Last?
Starwarsandcupcakes replied to CarmenG's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
This is going to sound crazy but …. Up your calories to 600. You’ll likely break through your stall that way. As for the stall itself, they can last a month or so. Just focus on following your plan, and drinking water. -

I made these but instead of the frosting listed I mixed sugar free chocolate chips with heavy cream to make a ganache. OH, and I used a sugar free maple flavored syrup instead of real maple syrup. -

Meal prepping for my work week- chocolate almond powder chia seed pudding for breakfasts with a protein shake in my coffee, sausage with peppers, onions, and mushrooms for lunch, and then these no bake brownies for desserts when I get home. (Dinner will be either chicken or tuna salad probably). -

The salad I ate for 2 days. 😂 The nutrition is for half a salad which is about what I ate each day. -

Yeah, I always look at the ads on Wednesdays and Fridays (ad preview) to see who has what for the week and make my list. That said, I paid $5.92US for 5 dozen non- fancy pants eggs last week. Which we a far cry from the $22+ it was last year. I miss paying $3.40 for 5 dozen back in 2020. 😭 -

Let me introduce you all to the many ways I’ve eaten eggs this past week. 😂 I was feeling a little heavy so wanted switch up my diet back to keto (which has worked for me in the past) and decided on a slightly modified egg fast to get back into things. Lost 7lbs of water weight in 4 days. Eggs with avocado (my modified one a day veggie choice) and feta, hard boiled eggs with mayo and hot sauce (not pictured), snickerdoodle cream cheese egg crepes, scrambled eggs with cheese, hard boiled eggs and chipotle mayo, a pizza chaffle moth marinara (my modified one a day veggie choice), garlic bread? ( this recipe needs work but the flavor was good), the recipe called it a crustless quiche (with mayo added), mini lemon cheesecakes (these were SO good!), and then cloud eggs with homemade hollandaise (these were just ok). Annnd what I ate for breakfast this morning was these reverse scotch eggs. -

While it does look delicious, there is NO way I’m paying $4 for a piece of fruit. -

Both! I have some in a mason jar (mostly for bagels and toast) and then about 5lbs on my butter/cream cheese shelf which is up higher where it’s colder. -

Wait… you guys are using the drawers for vegetables?! I use one for meats and one for cheese and keep the fruits and vegetables in the middle where they’ll get seen to be eaten. -

First meal of the day at 6pm because I was/am too busy moving around my living room. First picture is the nutrition info with the grams is adjustable by weight but seeing as I didn’t weigh it I just left the original weight listed. The second is about half of what the original size was. -

This salad was eaten for 2 meals and good thing too because it was huge. And yes, I eat my burgers medium rare. I’m not even sorry about it! -

I think it depends on what it is. There are some things that I’ll prep and keep for a week (lettuces for salad) and others that I pray don’t make leftovers (I’m looking at you fried foods!) For what it’s worth, the USDA says cooked pork is good for 3-4 days in the fridge. 🤷♀️ -

Meals yesterday and today- I didn’t end up eating the salmi or half the strawberries, gave them to a kid. Ate one mini eclair and half a bag of queso twists (425 calories!). My favorite was probably the falafel bowl where I made the cottage cheese taste like tzatziki. Also, my chopsticks are in my hand NOT stabbed into the food. -

Woah that is huge! For Americans who aren’t familiar with metric- 800g is roughly 1.75lbs. -

Sopapillas. It’s traditionally fried tortillas that are either tossed in cinnamon sugar or honey. These ones happen to be covered a sauce of cinnamon, sugar, and honey. -

Ordered Mexican food yesterday. All told it will be about 5 meals of which I split one with my 8yr old. He ate the majority of the tres leches cake, about 1/2 a lengua taco, half the cucumbers, a couple bites of the corn, and drank about 1/3 of the horchata. The other 2 tacos were a chorizo ground beef one and a birria taco. There’s still the foil wrapped tortillas (that I won’t eat), half the soup, and a bag of chips with salsa left for that 5th meal. -

I eat peaches, watermelon, potatoes, avocados, celery, carrots, and apples pretty frequently. Tomatoes are on the list but they act more as a histamine for the other fruits and vegetables to cause reaction. -

Hey, hi, person with a banana and kiwi allergy thanks to latex fruit syndrome! 🙃 Annnd what you’re both describing is exactly how my fruit allergies started out. The only thing in my life that had changed was pregnancies and their c-sections. My banana one has progressed to my coworkers trying to kill me with fruit. (That’s mostly a joke… but sometimes they don’t wash their hands. See below) Also, here’s link to a list that contains foods that may also cause issues. https://allergyasthmanetwork.org/allergies/latex-allergy/latex-allergy-foods/ -

Today I dragged my children to Celtic Fest where there wasn’t much Celtic food but loads of cool stuff to see and music to hear. Most of these are after pictures. I think I only took 4-5 bites of that cream puff and ate 1/3 of a cookie. Then had the ramen, and most of the inside of the steak and ale pie as they were sold out of pasties. 😩 -
SO MANY QUESTIONS
Starwarsandcupcakes replied to kritterk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Question 1- I struggled. There was a time right at the beginning of the pandemic (1st surgery was Dec 2019) where all I could drink besides hot tea was grape powderade zero (hated artificial grape pre-op) and everywhere was out. I distinctly remember crying in my car, like full on grief crying. I had buyers remorse for several weeks after that wondering if I’d ever be normal again. Be prepared with emotional/ therapeutic support if you’re already battling disordered eating. Question 2- A dry cough is indeed a symptom of gerd. For me, it’s now hiccups. If you’ve ever heard those honking plastic chickens just know that’s what I sound like. I did end up having a revision to RNY and hiatal hernia repair. They don’t remove your stomach, it’s still in there, they just bypass most of it and attach it in a y shape to another part of the intestines while keeping a small portion attached. The only reason I have hiccups again is because I have another hiatal hernia that needs repaired. Would I do it all over again knowing the journey I’ve been on? Absolutely. Would I also be more prepared mentally? Also, absolutely.
