Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
lotzasunshine replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Ok, so i know that Dr K is willing to do fills under flouro and that it just costs more. But I am really thinking that I need a fill as I have gained 4.5 in the past 6 weeks. I thought I was too tight, but even when I was too tight I was slowly losing. Do you guys think I need to do it under flouro to be sure or should I just get a fill and hope that it works? btw DH is very much against me getting a fill because some days I can hardly eat still. -

I have been banded just over a year now, and am finally getting some pics up. I have around 65 lbs. It's not coming off as fast as I'd like, but at least it's coming off. -

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :w00t::w00t::thumbup::w00t::wub::w00t::eek::w00t::eek::w00t::thumbup::w00t::ohmy::w00t::w00t::w00t::eek::w00t: I just got an AMAZING job!!!! I sent an email and resume to be a nanny in exchange for a 1 bedroom apartment, because things have been though for my DH and I right now. We went to the interview tonight at 7:30 we liked them, they liked us, and she called an hour later to say they were cancelling the other interveiw tomorrow and that they want us to move in during the 1st week of September!! We will be living rent free in exchange for wastching 3 boys age 7,11, and 16. VERY well behaved boys. Don't really need a nanny except to help with homework, make sure they do their chores, and run them around to activities. 3-6 pm during the week, and one night a week until 10, helping them keep up the yard and snow removal. The apartment is literally 3 times the size of our place right now!!! And it is in a VERY nice neighborhood! I feel like I might need to buy dome nicer furniture now LOL!! Also with this arrangement, my DH could just work part time, and go back to school!! This day started off really crappy with a huge migraine, and going to the dentist (for the first time in 8 years) and has ended so wonderfully!!!I just had to share my excitement!! I feel like we are actually getting the break we need!!! -
BUMP! :w00t: We need more stories!

It sucks, sorry! You can get through it though!!! We've been there, but you can't eat solids because you risk damaging your stomach which needs this time to heal. It is NOT worth the risk!! Keep coming on here for support and that will help. also, try looking at the recipes section on here for some GREAT shakes!! They help a lot. Good luck!

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
lotzasunshine replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Maybe I should go on the preop diet again, to help me breack the 240 mark. How many carbs did all of you take in on the preop? I went on 0 carbs, but bodies need carbs right? I think I was just worried about shrinking my liver that I went a little overboard. -

I am up 1. I am all of a sudden going from extra tight, to loose enough that I can eat 2 big taco's (bean and beef homemade hardshell) at one sitting. Apparently I need a fill, but I'm going to have to wait until DH gets a job or I start back at work in September. I still have bad reflux though. You think a fill might help that too? -

Congrats!! I'm still waiting on 70  -
I posted this on the bra talk thread too, and decided that I'm going to get fitted at fashion bug, I heard that their bras are pretty decently priced.

how many incisions?
lotzasunshine replied to mizzlady's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had 4 as well, but one of them is really tiny and not even noticeable anymore. -
Great! Thanks so much Carrie!! Looks like I may get a new bra this week. YAY! I have been so saggy lately.
-
That's a great idea, I even have a coupon for Fashion Bug, didn't know they did sizings. BTW I know this makes me look naive, but what exactly do they do to measure, do you absolutely have to be topless? Not sure how comfortable I'd be with that, but DARN IT I need a good bra!

I just posted this on another thread too, but thought I would ask on the bra talk thread. Since I have been losing, I cannot for the life of me find a bra that fits right. I usually buy the boxed kind from walmart because I have only ever gotten up to a 44DDD and they carry that size. Where is a good place to get an actual sizing for a bra? I can't afford a lot, so pretty sure VS would be out, plus idk if they carry a 42DD. I am just having a really hard time finding a good bra with support, which I really need now.

eeewww!! lol! Quick question though. Since I have been losing, I cannot for the life of me find a bra that fits right. Alcohol on the pre-op Diet
lotzasunshine replied to mems's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well, a lot of us have been there, and you wouldn't want to mess it up right before. I had to sit through a lot of family functions during my pre-op and it was really hard. I needed a lot of encouragement. So if I can pay it forward I will. Let me know if you need anything! -

I agree with Riley. If you are close to surgery than I wouln't risk it. When on a pre-op diet for 2 or so weeks, it is meant to shrink the liver. That is why you either go on liquids or no carbs(in my case). Alcohol is made up of a LOT of carbs. -
ooohhh... that gave me goosebumps, especially the part about the smoke instead of the drawing in the picture! I would like to propose a rating system for stories. 1 ghost to 10. I am rating this one 8 ghosts!!!

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
lotzasunshine replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Thanks for the kind words. I was just having a bad day yesterday. I am down 0 for this week, but it's better than gaining. I should be more grateful for how far I have some in the past year. I am glad that you are getting your PS. It will feel awesome! -

Ok, so I am getting really sad about my loose skin lately. I have lost a ton of fat on my upper arms, and now that skin is all saggy If I look at my arms from a certain angle they look great! But then, if I make the slightest movement they make waves! EEEWWW!! I am trying to stay hydrated, but my acid reflux gives me no end of trouble. I am not coughing up liquids during the night anymore, unless I forget and take a few sips in the middle of the night. So maybe things are getting better slowly. I so want to be in Onederland by New Years! But right now, I don't see that happening.
