I just found this thread and thought i would add some pics too. One is just a couple weeks after surgery, and the other was taken the beginning of this month. I have lost 60+ lbs now. I am feeling so much healthier and happier with my self than I have in a long time!

I want to join the next challenge as well. I was hoping to be down 100 around my first year mark, but since I am losing slower I think I will shoot for 233, that will be 75lbs down in a year. Not too shabby. So I think from where I am today (TOM) that is 14lbs. I think I can handle that. Small steps can lead to big results right?

Lame! I was down a couple pounds yesterday, but am back up today. Oh well. Just put me down for 0 this week. At least I made my goal!!!

I agree! EVERYONE should research the surgeon who is going to cut them open!

so just a question, I went to my "yearly" visit to my gyno's office, and I weighed in at 241. I talked with he nurse and they said the scale is calibrated so it is accurate. My scale said 247 this morning, and dr k.s scale usually puts me a little over what my scale says. Which one should I go by? Of course I WANT to go by my dr's scale cuz it says less. Or should I invest in a new scale?

Put me down for 0 this week. I've been sick, and puked a few times. idk if it was band related or just me being sick.

Some people never get a fill, and lose all the weight from the restriction of an empty band. I would say, as long as you are losing the 1-2lbs a week that is considered healthy, then don't get a fill. Eventually you may lose some restriction because you will lose fat around the stomach so you may need a fill. But then again, you may not!

I have had horrible cramps forever, and when I don't have access to my regular painkillers, I grab some tylenol pm and just try to sleep through the cramps. I was taking a dose every 4 hours just to get through.

I can see your point, but on the flip side, what if he was just talking about his writings? Don't you think that could also be the case? And why can't God, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, have other prophets writing scripture in other parts of the world? Even in the Bible, there were multiple prophets at the same time, but in different areas. Why not in the Americas? Many of the Prophets in the Book of Mormon were before the time of Christ. The Book of Mormon is not an addition to the Bible - it stands next to the Bible as an additional Testament of Jesus Christ. Just as the Old and New Testaments are separate books, The Book of Mormon is as well. I would like to encourage you to look into this a little deeper. pattygreen~ I wanted to respond to your comment. I have done some research about those passages in the bible that instruct no addition to their teachings. When you think about it the bible did not actually become the "Bible" until all the books were compiled. The passage you are referring to in The Book of Revelation 22:18 was written by John. "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of THIS book, If any man shall add...." I believe that the "book" he is speaking of is the one that he was writing. It was not compiled with the other books of the New Testament until later. I do not believe that God would give no more teachings and revelations than have already been given. It is like saying that God CAN'T give revelation today, because He has already told us everything there is to know.

Well, I hit my 60lbs down mark. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I am now in the 240's. I still feel (in my head) that I am over 300. Sometimes I have good days and feel really good about myself, but those bad days are getting to me.

You may have to play around a bit with your calories. The only way that I have been able to lose is by eating around 1500 a day. Try increasing them for a few days, and see what happens. Good luck!
