Yes, I had a robotic assisted sleeve on 1/8 and had zero complications. The scarring seems to be super minimal as well, I'm thinking maybe due to the robotic assistance? I'm amazed to be honest Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

Did anyone experience sore muscles (mainly leg and glutes) a few weeks after surgery? I'm super focused on hydration right now because I've been lacking the past few days, and now I'm thinking I'm low on protein and that may be the cause? Any ideas appreciated! (I'm taking my vitamins as well as Ferrex 150 mg and vitamin c 75 mg) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

Yay for UPMC! (I got my surgery through UPMC and they have been fantastic!) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app -
Maybe try going to see a therapist or a priest or even just a friend to talk out your emotions? Don't be afraid to let it all out, it may help you turn to food for comfort less often. Best wishes and I'm sorry for your loss. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

You'll do great. I was sleeved on 1/8 and had no nausea, and was able to take tiny sips right after surgery with not too much pain. The hospital will take good care of you, and don't be afraid to ask for your pain meds, you'll want to be comfortable so you can walk. The day of surgery and until the following day around noon I was on a Patient Controlled pain pump with dilaudid, any time I had pain I'd push the button and poof, back to sleep. Recovery at home is much less painful, I think I only took the pain meds for 3 days and then the pain was minimal. If you haven't yet, I would say invest in an abdominal binder for post op, I woke up with one on and it helps a ton. I hope this helps a little! Know that you're making a life changing (for the better) step and your family will get to have a happier, healthier, longer living you! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

HELP 4 week optifast diet
breavsg replied to Celeste kimberly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with catwoman. The pre op diet is much more difficult than post op, but it does mentally (as well as physically) prepare you for what is to come. You've got this! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app -

Hope everyone is doing well [emoji173] finally got to switch to purees on Tuesday (surgery was 1/8)(cottage cheese and eggs are my staples) and so far so good! Down 13 lbs since day of surgery (I've only been weighing once a week so could be a bit more now). There are some head games still, but overall, I'm extremely happy with my decision to get the sleeve! (My clothes are already more comfortable and I don't feel like I'm stuffed into them anymore, big win!) Also I've discovered that I can now eat about the same (sometimes less) portions as my 18 month old, so we've been sharing most meals lately, which saves me time and money... score!!! Video: Working out <6months post op
breavsg posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wanted to share this video, as I found it to be super interesting, along with most of this Doctor's other videos. I'm definitely not a Doctor, so don't take this as gospel, and please follow what your surgeon tells you! Warning: Some Profanity, so make sure your kids aren't nearby!! (He tells it straight) [/url]Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app Edit: I forgot to add the most important part -- this is only regarding immediately post op up to around 6 months post, not forever. My apologies! -

Sleeved January 9th -how are you all doing on foods?
breavsg replied to Liz2020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How is the puree stage treating you?? It's so odd the different diets each surgeon suggests... I assume they had you on one week of liquids, how long do you have to do the puree phase? I know each surgeon is different, so not judging!! Just curious! Take care! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app -

Have you tried Quest? I really like their chocolate shake and the reviews on their cinnamon crunch shake are awesome so I'm thinking of trying some of that flavor. Good luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app
