What I have said is I'm having surgery and it's nothing serious. They seem to get the idea but I do not want to discuss it.

February Surgery ?
DB in AZ replied to PSquared_vsg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey puffy no more, Glad to hear you had your surgery. But looks like you had a few bumps.I've been home for nearly 24 hours now.Hospital stay wasn't too bad.I didn't really have the gas pain that a lot of people do. Mostly just really sore muscles And the stomach felt raw.I did take the take pain meds that they offered so I could sleep.Since I've been home I've learned that you have to drink very slowly or else your stomach will hurt. Whether it's water or the protein drinks. It will be hard to get The required protein in the 1st couple of days.I only gained 2 lb from the hospital stay and surgery which surprise me because I feel really swollen.I tried to walk some but mostly taking it easy as it's pretty painful.Hope the rest of your hospital stay goes well and you get home soon so you can start on your journey. -
February Surgery ?
DB in AZ replied to PSquared_vsg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay. Had my surgery yesterday. Everything went well. Surgery took about an hour and I was in recovery about an hour and 1⁄2.Didn't have significant pain just a raw feeling but I took the pain medication they offered anyway to help me sleep. Was on primarily water yesterday although they did give me a very sweet protein drink For dinner.Started on some protein drink today. I got discharged today about 12:00 PM. I'm definitely very sore. But not significant gas pain like a lot of you have. I need to learn how to feel full.Right now I am trying to get about 3 oz of protein shake down I'll probably have to take about an hour to do that. Hope Everyone else had success yesterday but had surgery. -

February Surgery ?

Okay, will have my surgery tomorrow. So today I am on clear liquids. Vodka and Wine or clear liquids right?Just kidding.Seriously the 2 week liquid diet has not been that bad.Seems like the protein digest slowly and keeps me pretty full. And I have dropped 12 lb. Definitely am tired of the commercial Protein shakes. So I've been primarily making my own smoothies And adding different flavors. So all of you that are having surgery tomorrow with me, are you ready? -
Liquid diet struggles
DB in AZ replied to TheAngryMeow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take the bone broth and doctorate up a bit.I simmer it in my instant pot with onion, parsley, celery, and some spices as well as at a little salt. It makes it much more palatable. Taste more like an actual soup broth been the bland stuff that comes out of the carton. And the bone broth gives you more protein than regular chicken or beef broth. -
Must be really hard to have to wait after jumping through all the hoops to get where you are.My surgeon scheduled me just about immediately after submitting insurance 3 weeks out. And my surgery date is next Wednesday 19th, The 2 week liquid diet has not been too bad.The protein shakes and smoothies and a little bit that I can eat seem to keep me satisfied.I'm just happy that I'm almost there with the surgery. But I know that's when the hard work begins as well. Best of luck to you. Hope you get scheduled soon

Any drastic change in diet can cause bowel Changes as well. But you might wanna give your doctor a call to see if they want you to take anything to slow things down. You certainly don't wanna jeopardize your surgery date. I was so sorry to hear about your caffeine withdrawal. I know that can be a bear.Hope that's resolved for you. Fortunately I decaffeinated about 25 years ago. And I now don't tolerate caffeine whatsoever. I have to be careful With tea, Aspirin products, chocolate, and even sodas. We're getting closer to our surgery. Hang in there. -

Just finished day 2 of the 2 week pre opt diet. Doing okay so far.But I can see that these protein shakes are gonna get old fast. I'm making some of my own protein smoothies. My doctor's okay with adding a bit of fruit or leafy greens like spinach so I'm making some with apple or grape or bananas. They also allow a little bit of yogurt or cottage cheese which I have been doing at the end of the day It was dessert.12 more days to go. dessert.12 more days to go. -

I was scheduled for 22nd. I had my pre-op Testing on Monday. And I got a call yesterday moving my surgery date up to19th. Things are starting to move fast. I start my liquid diet today but decided to go ahead and have breakfast. I had cream chip beef on toast and a couple of poached eggs along with a grapefruit. Was delicious. Now comes the hard part. But let the journey begin. -
Yes I too I'm anxious to get rid of the big fat body and be able to wear the big fat diamond.

Did anyone go crazy before pre op diet started?
DB in AZ replied to kg2519's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I start my pre op diet next Saturday. I have done very well on the three month period losing about 10 pounds. For the next week I plan to go to my favorite Thai and Italian restaurants as well as make some really good meals: steak and potatoes, creamy casseroles, etc. During the liquid phase I will make some meals up for my husband for later as well as some soups that I can puree when I get to that stage. -
