I hear this all too well, my bf has been saying your going to get you stomach hacked out . Why can't you just walk with me or just eat salads. You don't need to do this...I am like first of all please stop speaking to me like that. This is my choice and I am going to do this. What I need from you right now is support. This my choice and be there for me when I need you to be. I have done a lot of research on the subject and I know the risks involved and I am willing to take those chances. I know it can be scary for those who don't know anything about about and yes this is elective surgery but I truly feel that this is right way for me to go....

I am going through U of M hospital. They have a great clinic I started in May and now surgery in April, I have the U of M premier care insurance which is part of BCBS. I had my first appointment in May to talk about what type of surgery they offer and they also require that you do 6 consecutive visits for 6 months. Also a support group (only had to do 1) and of course the Neuropsych testing. It went by really fast. I would of had my surgery done by now but I had to give up smoking which I did in December, and once that test came back negative they were able to schedule me for the surgery which is april 7th 2020 plus I still need to have a negative nicotine screen before the surgery

I had to have a negative nicotine test BEFORE they would even schedule my surgery which is now 3 months away (April 7th 2020). And I have to remain smoke free until my surgery. So they do that here and I am in Michigan

no he is not, but I am not letting that bother me. He has a few issues that he needs to deal with for himself. drinking, not working really not doing to much of anything...it's me paying the bills. I know I know it sounds crummy but I am ok with it for now. Just going to do this and see how things are this summer. If I need to leave then, that's what I shall do then...but I am keeping positive on all this. Like I said I have been though a lot worse and this is just a hiccup. (I hope)

yes mine is on the 7th I wish I could of done it a lot sooner. yeah the bf thing. Idk what to think about him He was even last night you can just eat salads and lose the weight, your going to cut out half you stomach (I was like 3/4 of my stomach thank you very much lol) you don't need to do that...just walk with me and. I was like you need to stop talking to me like that I have looked into this and it very safe, and yeah it's going to suck at first but you know what I will be just fine. I want to live another 55 years and this time do all the things I could not do because of the weight. I am so ready for this. I am ready to do me this time!!! I have come a long way from Drug addict to having nothing to being totally clean for 6 years I HAVE come a long way back to work, off disability, got a new (used) car Doing pretty damn good if I do say so myself..So ready for the surgery

I hear you on the bringing me down thing...but you know I am like this is for me! And me alone, I am sorry you (you) are not happy with your life but this is what I want. I heard you really start to see everyone's true colors when they know this is what you did or planning on doing...but II am going full steam ahead and I can not wait. I just saw someone take the stairs and I was like that is going to be me very very soon..Rock on we got this 🙂

My surgery is also on April 7th and I know I catch myself wondering if maybe this one time I could do it on my own? And also my bf is questioning me about having it done..I am full of emotions and such. I understand, but reading everything I can and working the steps and knowing that it will all work out in the end. I am 55 going to be 56 when I get the sleeve and I can't wait. I know I will be saying (just like everyone else) why didn't I do this sooner... just keep reaching out out everyone here on BP and they will help you. There is a thread in here called The Importance of doing the Head Work..It's great....totally check it out and keep in contact would love to hear how you are doing..we got this. If you feel that strong about the test and how everything went request for them to do another one. That way you will know for sure.Good Luck. I know first hand about this smoking thing. But I am very glad I quit and I feel so so so much better. (Hugs)

I am so sorry that happened. That happened to me 2 times and finally on my last test it came back negative. I have come to believe that it's just how your body responds. But mine too a full month to finally come back negative. And for me then I have to wait 3 months before I can have my surgery and test negative when I go in on 4/7/20. so I am just waiting now....but call the doctor's office and the will most likely tell you to take another test in 1 to 2 weeks. You just got to hold on girl it will work out when it's supposed to...xoxoxox
