IWantTheDream replied to CheerfulLoser's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My hair was getting really dry n brittle and I started taking collagen. I mix it in my protein shake and espresso latte every morning. My hair and skin have stopped drying out and I have to tell you my joints are feeling a bit better also. I have been doing for only 1 month and feel pretty good . -
Body Dysmorphia after Weight Loss
IWantTheDream replied to Pandemonium's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think we all probably have it to one extent or the other. I for one look in the mirror and still only see the biggest version of me I never am able to see myself getting smaller. I see the scale change but I don’t see any change. I just cannot see it. I am down 55lbs but I just cannot see it so frustrating! I do feel ur pain. Good luck 🍀 -
Try the vanilla flavor with 3 shots of Starbucks Espresso and 5 pumps sugar free vanilla syrup over ice in a venti cup. Yum I have this every morning for breakfast. They have Decaf espresso at Starbucks if you haven’t been cleared for caffeine yet. I got cleared at three months for caffeine. I bought an espresso machine and I buy the espresso beans from my Starbucks down the street so I make my own. I have to start my day this way and I think I am losing more now and I don’t feel deprived and I feel like I have a cheat or treat every morning and in fact it’s not it’s a perfectly good start.lol. 🙂 yum bottoms up!

Getting cold feet- VSG Pre-Op
IWantTheDream replied to LandoLivie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I finally made up my mind after falling literally on my face three times and having to beg a stranger to help my daughter get me up while I had blood coming down my face at an amusement park when I fell in a dark spot on broken ground that you couldn’t see until I feel and was treated like a criminal by the young security guard that basically told me that thousands of people walk there every day and I was the only one who fell. I also had my mom die four months before that and she was bed ridden because she was over weight in the low 300’s but her hips and knees just gave out and wouldn’t hold her anymore. So she spent a year trapped in a bed and then died at home with me n my daughter who took total care of her. I myself was at 286lb and had high blood pressure and I was diagnosed with Barrett’s esophaguses and I said that’s it your only in your 40’s and your daughter needs you. So I just took a leap of faith and prayed I would make it out of surgery. I did. I got a hiatal hernia fixed and got the VSG on July 7 ,2020 as of today I am down to 226 LB . I would tell you take the leap and be there for your kids and yourself. You got this you can do it. Best of luck! -
Getting Liquids in Quick
IWantTheDream replied to Vateacher2016's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 13 weeks out and I have had no problems drinking as much as I want since surgery but I can not eat more then 3 1/2 oz or I am in pain. So I think this is pretty normal for some people. Food is definitely more restrictive and I for one measure and weight everything to 3 oz so I can eat and don’t worry about being in pain from over eating. Congratulations by the way for the journey to the new you! -

Went to our local farm today and picked some apples off the trees and I bought five spaghetti squash’s they freeze beautiful. I put them in one and two oz containers. And I toasted up some of the seeds for snacks. I only cooked 2 squash so I have three left. Yum this is my favorite I mix it with everything. Best part there so fresh and they taste sooo much better then the ones you find in supermarkets. -

July 2020 Surgery anyone?
IWantTheDream replied to IWantTheDream's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the sit n spin one but for some reason my when I peddle the up down movement is very painful in my right hip. It kinda doesn’t go up n down normally it try’s to go side ways a bit. I know my hip doctor had me get that over a year ago but I can’t take the pain after like 3 min even with Percocet. Which I don’t want to use. But I have the Tony little Gazelle and I love that but because of the hip I can’t make it go very fast . I do 25 in morning but it only adds up to about a mile n a half but I never get out of breath or sweat. It’s always something right lol -
July 2020 Surgery anyone?
IWantTheDream replied to IWantTheDream's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So questions everyone from July surgery 2020 what kind of exercises are everyone doing? I have very bad hips and have cortisone injections in both and can’t do things that would have any kind of impact. I walk on my Gazelle every morning but my loss is very slow oh and my surgeon doesn’t want me doing an workouts or lifting nor then 10lb because I had a very bad hiatal hernia repair with mesh had to be used. So does anyone have some suggestions. I have espresso with my protein shake every morning for breakfast and then 3oz lunch n 3 oz dinner and some time a snack in between. But I feel I may need to move more even though it is hard or painful. -

Fairlife is awesome!
IWantTheDream replied to Pansypicker's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
If you like Starbucks espresso then get 3shots of espresso over ice in a venti cup with 4 pumps of sugar free vanilla and then pore your vanilla fairlife over it . This is heaven in a cup and it’s my morning breakfast every day. -

Getting "Gagged Out" on protein shakes. Need another way
IWantTheDream replied to LJW's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Try Bowmar protein the vegan ones are a little bit gritty feel but the regular ones are insanely flavorful and if you like sweet and yummy flavors they are great they also have flavored protein butters. Just look maybe try some samples I did and I am going to order some more. Here are a few I tried. -
I know what you mean. By the time I went in for surgery I felt like I could have eaten a burger the size of a car. Lol then I had surgery n really didn’t want to eat but by the Time I went through the three weeks of liquid n then full liquids I was going crazy to chew something. I felt insane at times then you eat like three bites and your full. Now I am almost 2 1/2 months post op n I get hungry now. I really wish I was like most people that are not hungry at all but I still cannot eat more than 4oz max. But just get through it its horrible and it’s all a mind over matter game. Stay strong and remember the long term goal. You got this congratulations you are in the home stretch for the new you!

You will be fine the pre diet is all about your surgeon preference. Most drs allow you some real food at least once a day. A banana should be fine or they wouldn’t tell you you could have it. This was my pre diet. You will be fine

July 2020 Surgery anyone?
IWantTheDream replied to IWantTheDream's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried the French toast it was amazing the flavor was so strong you could definitely think you are eating French toast. However I did blend it and I ended up with a lot of foam. I think it’s because it’s egg white protein. But flavor was great. I tried the vegan blueberry donut and it had flavor but it wasn’t bad but not amazing either. I think it had a bit of an after taste like all of the vegan protein do and I’m not crazy about that after taste. I haven’t tried the rest yet. Blueberry has 3 g carbs and 100 cal French toast has2g carbs n 110 cal. Not bad . I will definitely have the French toast again. I saw them on a YouTube podcaster she has all the flavors and she has one that is pancake and she mixes it with a few other things and actually makes protein waffles I want to try that also. I’ll let you know about the other flavors and how they taste -
