    January 2020 Surgery Folks

I’m doing well! I exercise 6 out of 7 days, and that’s so unlike me 😂. I hated exercise before. Don’t love it now, but I do it! Weight is VERY VERY slowly coming off, but still going down so I can’t complain. Inches are coming off. My large shirts are now getting baggy, so I am going out today to buy some mediums 🤯 that still blows my mind. I went for my 6 month appointment and was told I should be eating more, between 800-1000 calories a day. Still have a big problem reaching that. Most days I can get to 700 but I’ve hit 800 a couple times. I’m getting plenty of protein, usually 70-80 a day and they want me to get 60. Was also told to start drinking more electrolytes so trying to get more propel and Gatorade zero in. Was having issues getting severely dizzy, and doc thinks it’s from eating too little and not replenishing electrolytes with me working out so often 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’ll tell you, never in my life did I think a doctor would tell me to eat more lol I have way more energy, which is exciting! I feel good about how I look (in clothes at least) but I would still love to lose another 20-30 pounds.
  3. So I’ve been trying to get pictures every month to allow ME see the progress. I was sleeved 1/7/20. LOOK!
  4. Well these pictures are a couple months old, but I started at 284 pounds and I’m 5’4. I’m now 181 in a little less than 7 months post op. So 103 pounds lost!

I've lost 101 pounds now, so I cant complain. Getting protein is a breeze now. Easily get 70-80 a day. My 6 month checkup has been delayed twice now, once for a doctor emergency, and then my reschedule for this week was rescheduled because I got put under a health department quarantine order. Yay. So I have no idea where my levels are. My doc did tell me that I could switch to gummy vitamins at 6 months, so I'm (being the forever child) much happier with them now and it helps me to remember to take them.

Thank you! My mom actually made it for me 😅
  11. Ok so I’m not really...but I was wondering if you all watched your sodium intake, and if so is there a general range you try to stay in?

Now that we will all be hitting/have hit 6 months, where do you find yourself falling in calories per day? I usually get on average 600 with 60-70 grams of protein. I'm not sure if this is quite enough or not.

    DON'T DO IT

You really flubbed up by giving the doctor's name 🤣
  14. Umm there are plenty of us that dont have issues...this was rude. She is excited and here you come to rain on her parade about a MAYBE issue.
  15. I can answer for me...I am 4 days away from being 6 months post op, and I am down 96 pounds. I had the sleeve. I think if you dont have issues with reflux, sleeve is a wonderful option. My restriction is great and I dont feel the need to snack.

Hey everyone! Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I'm now 24 weeks post op and down 90 pounds! Was so happy to get to ONEderland, now I can wait to hit 100 pounds lost. I went from size 22 pants to size 14. 3XL shirts to large. I'm getting about 500-700 calories most days and hitting my protein and water goals MOST days.

    Thirty-year-old sleevers

So I am now down 90 pounds in 24 weeks. ANY issues have been totally worth it. I have had no vomiting since the stomach bug in the end of January. Occasionally I have some acid reflux, but when I take my Prilosec like I am supposed to, its not an issue. Its never been terrible though. As for food, I DEFINITELY still enjoy food! I don't eat much, but I am always satisfied. 95% of what I eat is what people consider healthy food, but I occasionally splurge, like I did last night when I had a bit of cake for my husband's birthday. I honestly never feel deprived or starved. I have been out to eat a handful of times and I am always able to find something acceptable (and yummy!) when we go out. I just ask for a take home box as soon as I get my food, and put most of it up, then eat what I can. No one really pays me much mind to be honest...and I save money by eating on that meal for a couple days! It has not hindered my social life AT ALL.
  22. Show me your face to face pictures! I love seeing these!
  23. This is literally me. Its...bizarre.
