Ok cool. I’m 4 weeks post op and I think I’m going to start my workout light again. Because my surgeons PA keeps telling me no work the 6 weeks. But I thinks it depends on the surgeons presences. I feel totally healed for God sake I carry around my 5 month old in a car seat I’m sure I can do a little jog and get some reps in lol

Yes I just drink plain water but I have always been a water drinker. So not a big deal but I may actually start adding a little apple cider vinegar

Is the regular stool softeners don’t work on a regular every 6 hour routine. I purchased the stool so free with a mild laxative the equate brand at Walmart. They r gentle but dependable.

I agree with BadWolfGirl. Start slow on soft purées and let your body be the guide. But try to get away from protein shakes and try to get a balanced diet in. And stay hydrated. I also can not drink protein shakes mixes. Blahh plus they r just too much for me. They make me want to throw up. But u will be amazed at the energy you will have once u start to get some real foods in. It’s as like night and day! It was great!! Yayy 14lbs down that is great!!

My sleeve, my wife & hgc

Ok. I would recommend therapy. Because everything ur life after weight loss surgery will change and you and ur wife will need it!! With the sleeve you will be starting at the most 300-400 calories a day if ur lucky in the beginning. I can get in 450-500 calories now and I’m a month post op. So her restricting her self to 500 calories would be a great support to you! I would recommend sitting down and talking to each other.

    January 2020 Surgery Folks

I had sleeve Jan 14!!! I can’t eat much only an oz at a time before restriction. Yea me and another girl in the pre op group where talking about RNY and the amount. Probably because ur liquids go through quicker. I’m on solid foods. I think that’s why I feel the restriction faster and longer.

Maybe I’m feeling so restricted cause I could eat more solid foods sooner?

Yea GURD sucks. It can even increase to cancer in the esophagus! So smart choice. Me too I am over weight but active nothing except insulin resistant and PCOS which makes ur body act CRZY with any type of sugar. Yes I think the biggest thing is the center of excellence because it’s such a major change in our bodies!

Full liquids I can only get in an oz. I have little 4oz yogurts (noose brand) and I can only do 1oz also. Water is the only liquid I drink with no type of sweetener in it and I can drink a 12oz nestle bottle in two hours and be comfortable if I push it any faster I’ll feel like liquid in my throat and burp a lot. I had the sleeve. I think with RNY ur fluids go through faster right? So that’s why u can handle more. With the sleeve ours has to sit until the cable opens. Idk what it’s called I forgot. Starts with a p I think. As where RNY bypasses that part and goes straight through. My surgeon really pushes sleeve only. He is getting patients that had bypass 10-12 years ago and even 5 years out they r having to be converted to duodenal switch. His nurse that has been working with him for many years has had multiple twisted bowels and blocked bowels with her bypass. And unless it s center of excellence or an accredited teaching surgeon. The surgeons lose contact with there patients after the first year. My surgeon has follow up and blood work every 6 months after the first year to year three. And then after year three every year.
